Yes, it is according to some.

I have just spent 3 hrs walking around Dublin.
It’s like being in a parallel universe.
Where’s all the banter and buzz gone fellas ?
Not very many Dubs about.
And those that are present .
Are wary as bejaysis.
I used to strike up great conversations with random strangers in Dublin.
You could be waiting in a queue or window shopping.
That was part of Dublins charm .
It’s people .
The “gas characters” as they were known.
We got to go with the times .
We know that.
I have shops I visit to buy spices and incenses.
That wouldn’t have been available when we existed as a mono culture society.
That’s all good .
But othe cities have districts .
Like Chinatown and Brick Lane were these traders transact .
Dublin has been subsumed.
We are a tiny capital city .
That specialises in selling fake paddywhackery to tourists .
Apart from that it’s mobile phone shops that are predominantly run by Africans .
And other useless tack.
A city without a soul.
My mothers family go back to the very origins of Dublin.
My father was a Dubliner too .
You have driven us all out .
And even if we could come back now .
We wouldn’t it’s a phantom town full of strangers .
“Raised on songs of glory .
Heroes of renown.
The passing tales of glory
That once was Dublin Town ” 💙
