Support for the Dutch government is collapsing—and with good reason. When the Dutch Parliament voted against an EU defense plan, that vote was blatantly ignored. The will of elected MPs, representing the people of the Netherlands, was cast aside in favor of decisions made in Brussels by unelected EU officials. This isn’t just a Dutch issue; it’s a glaring symptom of a broader democratic crisis gripping Europe.
In this video, we break down how national sovereignty is being steadily eroded by the European Union’s bureaucratic elite. From the defense plan override to the controversial push for Eurobonds, the Netherlands is being forced to comply with financial and military policies it never consented to. The EU’s plan to issue collective debt is sparking outrage—rightfully so—as wealthier member states like the Netherlands are expected to subsidize others with little to no say in the matter.
What we’re seeing is a growing disconnect between voters and the political elite—not just in the Netherlands, but across Europe. Only 1 in 6 Dutch voters still support their government. Even within populist parties, disillusionment is growing. When national parliaments are ignored, and policy is dictated by unelected technocrats, can we still call it democracy?
This isn’t just politics—it’s a pivotal moment in the future of European governance. The Dutch crisis is a warning to all who believe representative democracy is secure. The EU’s centralization of power is accelerating, and unless member states push back, the voice of the people will continue to be drowned out by elite interests.
Let us know what you think in the comments. Is this the end of national sovereignty in Europe? Will the Dutch government stand firm—or fold under EU pressure? Subscribe for more deep dives into global politics and democratic accountability.

Support for the Dutch government is collapsing and it’s not hard to understand why?

Recently there was a vote in the Dutch parliament against an EU defense plan with MPS voting against it. However that vote was completely ignored and the Dutch parliament’s decision was disregarded.
This raises the question in the current European Union system what the point of having MPS or holding votes in Parliament it seems we might as well just have a prime minister who goes to Brussels and is told by Ursula vonder Leiden what the plan is.
This is not merely a domestic political crisis it is a systemic failure of governance that highlights the fundamental flaws of the European Union and by extension Global
governance structures.
The situation in the Netherlands reveals a grave reality National parliaments the very
institutions supposed to represent the will of the people have been rendered powerless

Te Dutch MPS voted against the defense plan a decision that should have been respected as a reflection of democratic values but instead the will of the people is ignored.
Trampled Under the boots of an undemocratic EU bureaucracy this brings us to a crucial point that many across Europe are reluctant to face the European Union
with its vast array of unelected bureaucrats is fundament mentally eroding democracy the decision to override the will of the Dutch parliament in favor of a plan dictated
by Ursula V Leyden and her unelected European commission is not only an insult to Dutch democracy but to the Democratic fabric of the EU as a whole.
What is the role of parliamentarians in this system are they merely puppets in
the hands of a Brussels Elite?

The hollowing out of national sovereignty in the EU has reached a critical juncture
the people of the Netherlands like so many across Europe are realizing that
their voices are irrelevant when decisions are made in the shadowy halls of Brussels.
In this case what we see is a clear conflict between European technocrats who view the EU as an unaccountable supernational power and the Democratic will of the Dutch people.
There is no accountability no transparency and no genuine respect for the Democratic process.
As I have argued time and time again Global governance is being hijacked by a technocratic elite that is more concerned with perpetuating their own power than addressing the needs and desires of Ordinary People.
Additionally another motion was brought forward in the Dutch Parliament this time against the issuance of Euro bonds the Dutch rejected the 800 billion Euro rearmament plan but unfortunately they can’t actually block it within the European Union.

Let’s take a moment to consider the implications of Euro bonds which are now at the center of this new political turmoil in the Netherlands these bonds represent a dangerous and Reckless push toward ever closer Union further centralizing power within the EU.
Euro bonds allow the EU to issue Collective debt essentially forcing wealthier Nations like the Netherlands to subsidize the defense spending of other countries this is nothing less than a blatant redistribution of resources under the guise of solidarity.
It is a form of financial imperialism rich countries are made to pay for the military expansion of others with no say in the matter.

Moreover the eurobond plan highlights a fundamental flaw in the eu’s economic structure is a system that allows debt to accumulate without accountability this is a ticking Time Bomb for Europe’s Financial stability.
And it is one that could very well blow up in our faces in the coming years it’s
clear that the European Union is lurching toward a financial system that disregards National fiscal responsibilities and exposes countries to excessive debt.
The Netherlands one of the few fiscally responsible countries in Europe is being forced to pick up the tab for others.

This is not just a political failure it is a betrayal of the people as I have repeatedly stated the European Union’s vision of ever closer Union is nothing more than a thinly veiled excuse for consolidating power and creating a centralized
superstate.
The Dutch rejection of this eurobond scheme should be taken as a wake-up call to anyone still under the Del illusion that the EU is a Force for good in the world it is not the EU has become a self-serving entity concerned only with its own Survival at the expense of its citizens.
The Dutch are particularly concerned about Euro bonds which could be used to subsidize other Count’s defense spending the motion specifically calls for the government to
take a Firm Stance against Euro bonds and to strictly monitor the enforcement of European budget rules.
It appears that this motion passed as well however what the government will pay any attention to it remains uncertain the Dutch government’s stance against Euro bonds
should be celebrated as a rare Act of defiance against the forces of unchecked
centralization.
Unfortunately however it is likely to be ignored just as the vote against the defense plan was dismissed.
The tragic irony here is that the very mechanism meant to uphold Democratic
principles National parliaments has been subverted by an undemocratic EU structure that gives little weight to the will of the people.
The call for tighter enforcement of European budget rules is commendable but the EU has shown time and time again that it has no interest in enforcing any rules that
limit its ability to expand Brussels and its technocrats have proven time and
again that they will trample over National sovereignty in order to advance their own agenda.
What we are witnessing in the Netherlands is not just a domestic political issue it is part of a larger Global pattern in which governments are slowly but surely losing their ability to govern in the interest of their citizens.
It is vital that the Dutch government recognizes the sheer scale of the threat posed by Euro bonds and takes a firm stand not just symbolically but in terms of actual
policy.
This is a moment of Reckoning will the Dutch government be cowed by the Brussels Elite or will it stand firm and defend the interests of its people.
If history is any guide the answer is uncertain but one thing is clear the stakes are higher than ever before.
In the Netherlands support for the government is clearly waning only one in six voters now support the Dutch cabinet a significant drop from 37% last July.
Some members of the Liberal Party are even considering a coalition with the
left-wing greens and labor party additionally voters in gear Wilder’s party are visibly disappointed with what his party has delivered while in power.
The collapse of support for the Dutch government is yet another example of the
growing disenchantment with the political Elite in Europe the people of the Netherlands are sending a clear message they’re no longer willing to accept a government that prioritizes the interests of Brussels over those of the Dutch people.
The erosion of public support for the ruling Coalition is a direct consequence of its failure to represent the will of the people it is also worth noting the growing Rift
within the political establishment itself the prospect of a coalition between the liberal party and the leftwing greens and labor party highlights the utter confusion and disarray that has gripped Dutch politics.
In a country where traditional party lines are being increasingly blurred it
is clear that the old political structures are no longer fit for purpose the people of the Netherlands are crying out for real change but the political class is too caught up in its own Petty struggles to listen.
The disillusionment among voters in Geert Wilder’s party is also telling why ERS who has long been a champion of populist politics is failing to deliver on his promises.
His inability to satisfy his base reveals the Deep dissatisfaction that exists with all political parties in the Netherlands regardless of their ideological leanings.
This is not just a crisis of leadership it is a crisis of representation the people of the Netherlands are no longer willing to be told what is good for them by a political Elite that has long since lost touch with reality.
Now we wait to see if this vote from the Dutch public will be taken seriously or ignored?
The Dutch crisis is a microcosm of the broader crisis of democracy in Europe
and the world it is clear that the political system is no longer responsive
to the needs of the people we are witnessing the death of representative democracy.
Replaced by an unaccountable technocratic elite that governs not for the benefit of citizens but for the perpetuation of its own power.
The European Union in particular is a fail project that has become a mechanism
for transferring power from democratically elected governments to unelected bureaucrats.
The Dutch people are right to be angry they are right to demand that their voices be heard but will their government stand up for them or will they be crushed beneath the
wheels of a system that cares more about expanding its own influence than serving
the needs of the people only time will tell.
But if history is any guide the struggle for real democracy in Europe is far from over that’s all for today we.

more please give this video a quick thumbs up if you found it informative?
