Hello everyone thank you for joining. Henry Kissinger once said control the food and you control the people control the energy and you control the continents control the money and you control the world and now more than ever before the statement Rings true.
Due to increasing militarization and arguably a complete lack of competent diplomacy every day we hear about yet another escalation and now that the Biden Administration is likely going to approve sending US military contractors to Ukraine officially we know that they’ve been there for a while but now that it’s about to be official it seems that we’re on a straight path to a major truly major global conflict.
This is a good time for people to start waking- up to the reality in one way or another. Escalations in the Middle East and in Europe will send shock waves through the rest of the world. Human Security will be impacted everywhere and the supply of food will be at a great risk because exporters of Commodities such as grains oils and other Staples in our diet they will likely move to increase their own resources to make sure that they have enough for their own people for their own population this will further limit their exports causing a surge in commodity prices worldwide. Nations might face famine as they’re unable to secure adequate Imports of basic food items such as grains. Financial Times just published an article that underscores we can no longer rely on the supply of food being uninterrupted. I realize that it sounds nearly impossible for many of us and if this is not a red flag I’m not sure what it is. Take a look here Financial Times says World headed for food Wars one’s major Commodities Trader it goes on to explain the world is headed for food Wars as geopolitical tensions and climate change push countries into conflict over waning supplies. They’re already telling you supplies of food are waning and this is according to one of the world’s largest agricultural commodity Trader speaking of the redb Atlantic and uh should we be surprised at this point none other than Rothschild consumer conference last week Farges who is the chief executive at Olam Agre which is an agricultural trading house, warned that trade barriers imposed by governments seeking to shore up domestic food stocks had exacerbated food inflation.
What does he really mean by this well he’s telling us that countries around the world have been increasing their domestic supplies of food and why would that be, well because all signs point to further escalations an increase in Refugee crisis which means more vulnerable individuals around the world will be in need of assistance with basic necessities and therefore it means we will face further degradation of global stability. This has resulted in less inventory that is available for exports and therefore food prices Rose around the world this is what happened and it’s only fair to expect that this trend will continue now small farmers and agricultural businesses in general in the United States and in Europe really need to prepare for difficult times. Russia is the biggest producer of agricultural fertilizer and up until this point the United States and Europe have been purchasing billions of dollars worth of Russian fertilizer however even though Russia wants to continue exporting its fertilizer. Wants to continue trading with Western Partners Western partners are about to make a big change. For example in 2023 the United States purchased nearly $1.5 billion worth of fertilizer from Russia however that is about to stop and that’s going to become a massive hit to domestic food production in the United States and in Europe.
Remember at this point nothing should be dismissed as a coincidence new sanctions will soon impact fertilizer Imports at a time when the EU is working on decoupling so the EU and the United States are working on decoupling their economies from Russia. The figures are Starling says this article since the 2020 2021 agricultural season EU Imports of Russian fertilizer have doubled, Russia now accounts for around a third of the eu’s total Imports. France Imports 80% of its fertilizer needs from Russia both the EU and the United States are trying to wage this Blame Game to justify their own lack of competence. You may recall that a couple of months ago state Secretary Anthony Blinken and then treasury secretary Janet Yellen went to China and while they were in China they blamed China for being able to manufacture too much for its overc capacity a term that really doesn’t exist.
Well now the desperate blame game continues and this time around Russia is to blame because Europe wants to buy its fertilizer as EU Farmers dependence on Russian fertilizers has grown the state of our domestic fertilizer industry has suffered from the impact of cheap Imports. Around 20% of EU fertilizer capacity is currently lying Idol because of a lack of demand ( to expensive as result of high energy costs ) cheaper Russian fertilizer has replaced fertilizers made in the EU.
Russian exporters have priced their products in a very targeted way so they’re telling you that they’re not really in favor of uh market economy so they’re slightly but consistently cheaper than the eu’s production costs. The European fertilizers industry calls on the EU to take the strongest possible action to stop Russia using fertilizer exports as a weapon. You just can’t make that up at the expense of farmers and we all remember those massive truly massive farmer protests against agenda 2030 that took place several months ago. So at the expense of farmers at the expense of their livelihoods and ultimately at the expense of food and price. There fore human security of many nations the next move will knap food security globally and make no mistake about these new sanctions it is a choice.
The initiative to stop importing fertilizer from Russia is ramping up. Here’s Bloomberg for example a major news Outlet telling you Europe’s fertilizer producers sound alarm over big import from Russia. A Lobby group fertilizers Europe and you have to wonder who’s running this Lobby group. Right it says that Imports of Russian fertilizer undermine efforts to restart capacity that was idled by the energy crisis of their own creation while also raising a food security risk for the continent.
There’s a lot to unpack here not only is Europe unable to function as it used to without cost effective natural resources from Russia but also they’re trying to tell you here they’re trying to convince you. That you now have to say no to food security because they want to revive their domestic production which they neglected. The production of fertilizer and of course you can’t do that you can’t revive manufacturing and industrial production without cheap energy. So you know the same energy that they just banned I hope that you can see what’s going on here and the level of hypocrisy.
The cost of living crisis is about to go through the roof if the price of basic food items rises. Even more developing East and in Africa they will be hit the hardest with extreme food shortages because the supply of food is about to decrease as the demand for it continues to rise.

Now here’s Whitney web on what they have planned it’s been criticized by people on the left and the right um and then there’s been time and time again it’s been revealed by even mainstream media. This you can look at um the Glasgow Financial Alliance for net Z that was created by Mark Carney and Mike Bloomberg which somehow the UN decided were the best people for the job of saving the planet.
They’re in charge of climate Finance for the United Nations, uh the stop and frisk New York mayor billionaire from Soloman Brothers Mike Bloomberg and the head of a former head of the uh Bank of England and Bank of Canada and former Goldman Sachs guy Mark Carney that’s who’s saving the planet for the UN.
So they’re the ones reimagining this uh the whole multilateral development banking system and part of this is involves this carbon Market uh play where the World Bank along with Google um and some other actors are developing uh climate wallets. They’re designing it it’s designed to run on um I believe the Chia Network which is the guy that in invented bit torrent his new project and um they claim to be sort of like a net zero blockchain I guess.
And basically the idea of it um is uh for people to participate in the carbon Market to come and the idea um of people being able to sort of like monetize nature um and there’s a whole lot of stuff going on with carbon credits and carbon markets right now. And it’s a very murky legal area and I’m very concerned about it because there’s this whole mentioned but relatively unexplored issue of so-called carbon rights where the person that buys the carbon credit can get rights to the carbon.
For the credit represents does that make sense so like I buy a carbon Credit in this Forest this Colombian rainforest and now I am the potentially the owner of the carbon in those trees. So I can decide what happens to that carbon and the people that actually like own the land or like Colombians you know they don’t necessarily own it anymore. Potentially this is like this murky gray area so it’s opening the way up I think to some land grabs um in uh in the glob South so a lot of very uh disturbing things happening in carbon Market land. And even under the idea of you know reducing CO2 levels and all of that and the carbon Market as it’s been functioning um you know just hasn’t done that it’s been criticized by people on the left and the right um and then there’s been time and time again it’s been revealed by even mainstream media that up to 90% of all carbon credits on the market right now are completely worthless and meaningless.
So it’s basically like the junk bond Scandal of the 1980s again and what’s interesting is that the person that invented carbon markets and carbon credit trading is the guy named Richard Sander who worked at Drexel Burnham Lambert the junk bond Scandal Bank of the 1980s. He was a senior vice president until he was uh brought in by the GeorgeBush Senior Administration to apply free markets to environmental issues. For Bush seniors EPA and then was contacted by this like Rockefeller oligarch guy uh who was at the UN named Marie strong to develop the same solution for carbon and he’s also the father of derivatives of financial Futures which of course helped explode in 2008
oh uh so the guy that invented all of that is the guy that invented carbon-credit trading and he also wants to make a a market just like that for free water and free air so you can uh you know get basically taxed on that too.
I think a lot of this we’re uh going to be seeing going forward this push to um have economically destabised countries in Latin America turned towards dollar Den denominated stable coins like that’s happening in Argentina for example because of like the issues with the peso there and how it’s been devalued uh so much even under Malay people are flocking to um dollars essentially but like stable coins either like tether usdt or circles usdc um and this whole crypto ecosystem in Argentina is pretty much you know largely managed by the this one particular Network that’s intimately tied to the satellite company. I was talking about uh they’re all tied up with this group called Endeavor which Endeavor has an Argentina Branch they have branches really all over the world they’re based in the United States uh the their board is chaired by Edgar bronfman Jr of the bramman family which if you’re familiar with uh my books um is a intimately tied to organized crime and basically the people behind Justin trudeau. Um and uh another person on their board is Reed Hoffman who’s the co-founder of LinkedIn who was a member not part of the so-called PayPal Mafia um and probably the closest person on Silicon.
In Silicon Valley Reed Hoffman um is a big funer of sort of democrat causes and the Democrats but other members of the quote unquote PayPal Mafia are very much uh supportive of trump uh for example Peter theel was a big force on a Trump’s transition team uh people that worked very closely for theel and the’s Palante here uh basically directed all the um the early policy decisions and appointments of Trump’s Department of Defense um and there’s been a lot of connections. I think still um between PayPal Mafia and Trump and you have someone like Elon Musk also sort of posturing publicly anyway as a Libertarian and sort of in that right populist Camp.
So I don’t think I think um you know this particular um this particular network has people who sort of play to both sides of the political machine which is frankly you know if you want to get lots of lucrative government contracts.
I mean that’s what you do frankly it’s hard to know where we will be but I think it’s pretty clear that there’s certain efforts to push people in a particular direction so um I think it’s been clear for a long time and as I’m sure you’re aware there’s a push to onboard everyone to a digital ID system vaccine passports during covid were a big part of this. But there’s been all sorts of pushes forward for example world coin Sam Alman scan your eyeball uh get a unique digital ID in a wallet you can have tokens in uh people in in in the global South that like are they’re basically being bribed to give up their biometric data for the guy that runs open AI with Microsoft and stuff.
There’s these digital ID inter um like initiatives are consistently tested on vulnerable stateless people but the goal is to have it rolled out globally and to have it be interfaced with a digital wallet where the money is programmable and surveil so a lot of people have been talking about cbdcs Central Bank uh issued digital currency uh but there’s also going to be digital currencies just as surveil and programmable that are issued by the private sector and the Wall Street Banks. And that isn’t being talked about enough so one of the stable coins I mentioned earlier that people in Argentina are being rapidly onboarded to because their currency is being destroyed uh tether uh recently onboarded the FBI and Secret Service to its platform so everyone that uses tether gets to uh use their money under the watchful eye of American intelligence essentially um and those same actors the FBI and the Secret Service are part of this public private partnership uh housed within the world economic Forum.
It’s basically us um Israeli and UK intelligence plus a lot of big Banks and PayPal um uh their ambition is to End online anonymity and with that also Financial anonymity so we’re seeing unprecedented uh crackdowns on uh you know a financial privacy tools both for cryptocurrency and for regular transactions.
And big pushes uh from all across uh the internet really to have you tie your government issued ID to what you do online whether it’s your social media account or really anything um and so the the goal here is to have a you know create a a completely surveill uh system based on Biometrics and with money that the government or whoever can directly program and surveil.
So programming it means that you can only use the money for what they say you can use it for and you can only send it to who they say you can send it to and the goal is to onboard the whole world onto that.
And they consistently test the stuff first in a global South so what on the global South so like what this article is about is a big effort um to essentially wrap up a significant amount of Latin America by focusing at the subnational level the local level uh onto these kind of systems under the guise of we must decarbonize.
Now yeah um but really the if you look at sort of like the fine print I guess you could say of this program the decarbonization funds go to a specific company uh that’s tied up with this particular group uh that’s trying to build an InterContinental Power Smart grid uh from the American and they’ve been testing their smart grid uh in on um in uh poor communities in Latin America in Los Angeles actually in the US and also in Colombia and some other countries with the idea of having it um all tied together.
And having energy be currency and the idea is to move away um from you know currency as we know it now and have all these commodity-backed currencies and that people trade energy or trade carbon credits.
Um and basically um it’s complic there’s a lot of different reasons for why they’re moving in that direction part of it is because of the insane amount of debt that the world is saddled with um you have to park that debt in certain places you have to um find ways to manage it right and so you know some of these stable coins are being used for that uh carbon creditsare being used for that actually.
rfk’s vice president uh Nicole Shanahan uh was running uh or managing um a project at Stanford law that was about using carbon credits to uh facilitate quantitative easing which is uh you know the endless money printing by the Federal Reserve so there’s been a lot of um you know efforts to look at what they’re going to do with the debt and essentially they have to remake the financial system.
Uh but they’re you know making it in a way where it’s um you know completely surveyable and controllable and these are really the Ambitions that the US National Security State uh had right after 9911 and tried to impose on everybody.
Uh total information awareness for example uh was a program that they tried to um enact uh and uh you know there was a big uproar about it at the time in like 2003 2004 because even the New York Times and stuff knew that it was going to completely eliminate privacy for the average American um and so the ambition of this program was to surveil literally everything including people’s like Health signals to prevent pandemics before they can happen uh to prevent Financial crime before it could happen.
Whitney web explains that the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero wants the financial sector to help reduce carbon emissions by creating carbon markets and digital climate wallets similar to cryptocurrency wallets. However these carbon credits could lead to land disputes and are often seen as ineffective she thinks that Central Bank digital currencies will become common which could reduce personal freedoms and increase surveillance on individuals unlike decentralized crypto currencies like Bitcoin which are designed to be free from government control.
cbdcs would be controlled by central banks allowing the elites to Monitor and regulate people’s daily transactions.
Web also points out that these efforts might be part of a bigger plan to control how money is used with digital IDs and programmable money making it easier for authorities to Monitor and regulate transactions this could mean less Financial Freedom for individuals and more power for those in control before.

Greetings friends, I am the voice of Earth I am the ground beneath your feet that support you and the Consciousness that enlivens the minerals plants animals and humans.
I am present in all life forms I nurture and I flow through you feel my energy flow through your body your veins through your legs and up to your abdomen. Relax into my energy and feel born by me let go of all the tension you experience as a human being which to a large extent comes from your head your thoughts.
Notice that all living creatures on earth have Consciousness and are able to sense even the most dense energy forms such as Stone have a Consciousness and that Consciousness always contains sensing perceiving what feels good or not.
This basic Consciousness is present in all life forms but none of these forms except human beings have thoughts a thinking Consciousness. The ability to think is what distinguishes you from all other life forms for a moment be aware of the power that is hidden within the mind and its ability to think thinking can be directed in different ways it can be directed toward outer things such as making an effort to achieve something or it can be directed toward inner purposes in contrast the plant and animal kingdoms allow themselves to be affected by the music of a fixed Rhythm that forms part of their essential nature. They live their life from that Rhythm and through their nature it is quite different for human beings a human can change its Destiny and fate and can take new paths through thinking it can Envision and reach farther
however the ability to think also has a potential Pitfall by way of the Mind a human can think they are a living being separate from the rest of nature but when a human does that they give too much power to the mind and Humanity has stepped into that Trap. By giving too much emphasis and priority to thought and it has done that at the expense of the nurturing ability of Nature and Humanity’s connection with the rest of life on Earth. So while thinking possesses a great power that can be used in positive ways this power has become dominating it wants to steer life to control and manipulate life and it does not take into account life’s natural Cadence and flow feel for a moment that Gap within yourself.
You also have an innate nature just as do the animals and the plants that nature is not only from your Earthly body be it male or female that nature which is you is also enlivened by your soul that nature is in you a natural Rhythm that belongs to you that befits your soul I the Earth warmly welcome your soul I Need Your Love you are very dear to me.
I would like to work with you as a soul as a cosmic being together we can create a new reality when your Cosmic light touches me it is received in matter your light has the power to create more so than any other living creature on earth and through our collaboration. New Paths for Consciousness can emerge on Earth with the sole power that is your essential nature you give off Sparks of light on me the Earth you infuse me with your light and that is the intention that is the purpose however the mind with its ability to think has become too much of an independent power that can cause an interruption in the cooperation and outward flow from your soul to me.
Feel for a moment that natural flow within your yourself your nature as a soul connected with the Earth reveals itself through your higher feelings each of you knows these higher feelings and can sense The Whispers of your soul they let you know in a gentle way what attracts you something toward which you sense this belongs with me this suits me this is good for me or you sometimes hear a soft voice that says no this is not something for me. This does not suit me this does not belong to me these soft whisperings of your intrinsic nature your soul are often interrupted by your thinking which has a much more harsh energy because the force that drives much of the thinking on Earth is fear if you want to control and direct Life by the use of the mind you must continually adjust and change life’s natural flow in order to set it to your will in this way you fight against life and nature and that happens in many of you.
You sit in your head and from there attempt to navigate life but in the end that approach to life frustrates you because it does not work what is necessary is that you descend into yourself so do so now along with me feel from the ground Beneath Your Feet. The Earth Energy connect with and flow through you through your lower legs your knees your thighs and into your pelvic area. You are welcome on Earth feel my welcome to you the joy that I have in receiving you and providing you with what you need let your awareness move away from your head quietly enter with your awareness into the area of your heart and feel the gentle open energy there that is who you are a cosmic being descended onto Earth it is through a natural collaboration with me the Earth.
That you can fulfill your Soul’s Destiny feel the quiet current of your heart and now observe the difference between this flow and that of the energy of trying to think through everything. Thinking is all too often hectic tense and chaotic observe that mental activity in a very objective neutral way maybe you see it as a stream of energy that moves around or through your head feel that energy the vibrational frequency of it feel how it is more coarse and less refined than the gentle energy of your heart. Now connect from your heart with your whole body let the gentleness that you experience in your heart completely encircle you as a blanket of light a friendly open light feel how this light befits me the Earth how it suits me and feel received by the Earth. Imagine that surrounded by this light you penetrate to my core this planet Earth you literally descend deep into the Earth to the energeticlevel of my core and you feel not at all stressful doing this but free because you recognize me as our energies flow together penetrate even farther into the koruna of my energy field into my very heart. And and feel who I am if it helps you to do so ask your imagination for an image that personifies me for example in the form of an animal or a plant say a flower or a tree something of the earth of nature something that allows you to connect with me. In your imagination through this image my being my soul reveals itself to you I want to share with you to connect with you so allow what you see to speak to you to give a message to you it does not have to be through words it can be an energetic transfer. Feel how welcome you are we have need of you here and I speak on behalf of the many living beings of non-human nature the animals the plants the Rocks the forests your Soul’s light is welcome here welcome now more than ever before and there is room for this light now more than ever before this light can now connect to the Earthly reality and cause things to change to be set in motion. A new time has arrived a turning point has been reached there is still a lot that needs to change still a lot of pain among humans but there are also people who in their hearts are open to the light which they themselves are and who recognize my being as a kindred soul. I want to speak to you especially to those of you who find it difficult to be on earth and incarnated in a body and I invite your questioning and your light we need you. I as the Earth possess great forces a self-healing power is provided to all living creatures which have an Earthly body and this power is also within you for a moment feel that positive power in your own body.
I’ve given you Powers by which you can balance and heal yourself and in return you bring something for me the Earth and for all that lives on me a light that is new and Innovative. You need me and I need you and this need is not to fill a lack but is to provide a joyous dance of cooperation I ask this of you trust your heart know that there is a source of wisdom in your connection with me. It is a different realm than the one you are existing in right now and at the same time The Fifth Dimension is within you that is a paradox and it is supposed to be a paradox because you are meant to have your minds blown at this time. You are meant to go beyond what your mind has the capacity to understand and in order to do that you must give yourselves that which cannot be figured out it is in your inability to figure something out that you will eventually give up. A and it is in that surrendering that you are able to take a Quantum Leap Forward all Quantum leaps that you have scheduled for yourselves come in those moments of Letting Go.
They come from surrender you are meant to fail in certain areas of your lives so that you will surrender so that you will let go of your attachments and let in the spiritual experiences that go so far beyond the physical ones now. You still get to manifest a very nice life for yourself in this physical body and in this Dimension but chances are it doesn’t include everything you’ve ever wanted for yourselves. All of that will be possible once you cross that threshold of Consciousness that takes you into a fifth-dimensional experience of reality. Last month’s tranche of documents showed that in late 2021 and early 2022, FDA and NIH officials privately expressed concerns about the growing rate of adverse events related to the COVID-19vaccines — concerns that reached high-level FDA officials.
Despite public statements by government officials affirming the safety and efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines in early 2022, documents obtained by Children’s Health Defense (CHD) reveal that, at that time, public health officials were increasingly concerned about vaccine-related adverse events.
The 300 pages of documents released on Aug. 22 contain private correspondence from 2021 and early 2022 between U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and National Institutes of Health (NIH) officials, and emails from vaccine-injured individuals to NIH scientists.
CHD requested the documents via a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request in 2022. In April 2023, CHD sued the NIH to obtain the records after the agency failed to respond. In an October 2023 settlement, the NIH agreed to produce 7,500 pages of documents at a rate of 300 pages per month.
Last month’s tranche of documents showed that in late 2021 and early 2022, FDA and NIH officials privately expressed concerns about the growing rate of adverse events related to the COVID-19vaccines — concerns that reached high-level FDA officials.
A Jan. 24, 2022, email (pages 239-240) to Dr. Janet Woodcock, the FDA’s principal deputy commissioner of food and drugs, and Peter Marks, M.D., Ph.D., director of the FDA’s Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research, alerted them to the existence of “scientific data” regarding adverse events.
The email, titled “Impromptu Meetup” and sent by an individual whose name is redacted, stated:
“We are in [Washington] DC the remainder of today and tomorrow. Some of our epidemiologists happen to be in town as well and would like to have the opportunity to review with you the scientific data they have.
“Also checking in to see what progress has been made with our researchers?”
In a reply later that day, Woodcock said, “We are evaluating the data and analyses that have been done on adverse events after vaccination, particularly neurologic AE’s” (adverse events).
However, she added that the FDA was “not having in person meetings” at that time but stated that “something could be set up for a discussion between the scientists but it would need to be scheduled to ensure the right people attend.” She did not clarify who the “right people” would be.
On the same day, Marks also responded to the email, stating that the FDA has “connected with” NIH researcher Dr. Avindra Nath — who was studying vaccine-related adverse events — and was “also working through contacting other physicians as well.”
Marks added that he “sent a note to our pharmacovigilance group to see if they can free up time today or tomorrow” but said that “setting up a virtual meeting at some point in the near future when there is more time to plan participants and the agenda may make sense.”
There is no indication as to whether this meeting ultimately took place.
The emails followed just months after another NIH scientist, Farinaz Safavi, M.D., Ph.D., of the NIH Division of Neuroimmunology and Neurovirology, appeared to acknowledge the potential dangers of COVID-19 boosters.
In a Sept. 30, 2021, email (page 129), Safavi told a vaccine-injured individual, “We do not have any data to suggest for or against booster shot [sic] but the consensus among our team is not to take if patient develop [sic] significant neurological complications post vaccine.”
The individual emailed Safavi earlier that day asking whether it was advisable to receive the then-new COVID-19 booster, despite saying that “nothing has really changed” regarding their symptoms.“I think my ears are still off, but I have gotten used to it.”
The injured person previously contacted Safavi earlier in 2021 complaining about injuries sustained following vaccination — describing in a March 26, 2021, email (page 136), “severe paresthesias in my face and scalp and tongue and chest band tightness,” and “severe muscle spasms in my scalp and jaw and even my gums and teeth hurt.”
Vaccine injury victims felt ‘very betrayed’
But while some people injured by the vaccines received replies and advice from NIH scientists, the latest documents showed that many others received no such replies. Some sent desperate emails to NIH scientists asking for help or an update.
For instance, in a Jan. 14, 2022, email (pages 234-235) to Nath, a vaccine-injured person praised Nath for his previous work helping the vaccine-injured, but then noted that he and other NIH scientists subsequently abandoned them. The email stated, in part:
“Dr. Safavi left a vaccine injured chat last September, something strange was going on. The active engagement from the spring and summer was replaced with distance and vague responses, then nothing. But then some people get telehealth visits, and vague responses … and others are told ‘there is no research’ and that’s it for them.
“I am sure you would understand now why the hundreds+ who were turned down for any assistance are now extremely upset after waiting for so long … many feel very betrayed. They have been waiting and waiting, all while suffering every single day. … The conversation isn’t happening. They are dying.”
Marks and other FDA officials appear to have met with vaccine-injured individuals a few months prior, according to an Aug. 18, 2021, email sent to Nath (page 283). In that email, the vaccine-injured person wrote:
“Our ‘injured’ MDs and I are meeting with peter marks and paul Richards [sic] at the FDA Monday morning. I have discussed this with Janet Woodcock and Paul for the last few weeks.
“Hopeful they will be willing to help us ‘nobodies’ in our quest to get medical help for people, or any sort of acknowledgement so people are able to begin dialogue with their home physicians.”
Some victims said Marks blew off scheduled meetings with them.
Dr. Danice Hertz, a retired gastroenterologist from California injured by the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 shot she received in December 2020, previously told The Defender that she and a group of vaccine-injured individuals secured a Zoom meeting with Marks in early 2021 — which he then skipped.
Previously released documents from CHD’s lawsuit against the NIH contained emails showing that Marks and Woodcock were aware of reports about COVID-19 vaccine injuries in early 2021, including emails from injured people throughout 2021 and 2022 seeking help regarding their injuries.
Other documents indicate that, as early as January 2022, NIH researchers were aware of at least 850 peer-reviewed case reports and/or research articles about COVID-19 vaccine reactions.
In one email (name and agency redacted), NIH researchers were told the federal government was “saddled” with the “mess” of dealing with those injured by the COVID-19 vaccines, due to the liability shield enjoyed by vaccine manufacturers.
Marks, FDA still publicly claim COVID shots are safe and effective
Marks continues to promote the COVID-19 vaccines as safe and effective and downplay the extent and severity of vaccine-related adverse events.
Last month, he advised the public to get newly updated formulations of the COVID-19 shots, stating the new vaccines “meet the agency’s rigorous, scientific standards for safety, effectiveness, and manufacturing quality.” He said vaccination “continues to be the cornerstone of COVID-19 prevention.”
In a subsequent interview with NPR though, Marks hedged on the question of how effective the new vaccines are.
“The vaccine is not intended to be perfect,” Marks said. “It’s not going to absolutely prevent COVID-19. … But if we can prevent people from getting serious cases that end them up in emergency rooms, hospitals or worse — dead — that’s what we’re trying to do with these vaccines.”
During congressional testimony in February, Marks said, “There was a signal for myocarditis or pericarditis only after the primary vaccination series with the Pfizer mRNA vaccine in those 12 to 17 years of age, and that now that signal is not being seen more recently.”
Marks also claimed that numerous false reports are submitted to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS), though other experts have disputed this assertion.
However, Marks also acknowledged that the FDA was overwhelmed with adverse event reports after the COVID-19 vaccines became available, stating that “the avalanche of reports was tremendous.”

One of the key themes I’ve tried to illustrate in my writings is that chronic illness has vastly increased over the last 150 years. A major cause of this is the disruption of the natural rhythms essential for our body’s self-regulation and self-repair.
Modern Medicine (Allopathy) often overlooks this concept because it doesn’t recognize the innate health of the body. Allopathic treatments focus on stabilizing or altering the body (e.g., ICU care or surgery) and hoping it heals itself, unlike other medical systems that enhance the body’s natural recovery capacity.
Typically, Allopathy excels with acute conditions, while a health-augmenting approach is better for chronic illnesses, an area where Allopathy often falls short. Here are three reasons why the Allopathic model dominates:
1.Economic incentives — The Allopathic model creates many expensive treatments and diagnostics, making it highly profitable and incentivizing its dominance in the medical market.
2.Cultural psychology — Our culture’s need to control and understand everything leads to methods that dominate nature rather than work harmoniously with it, oppose the philosophy of trusting the body’s natural healing.
3.Research bias — Medical research favors treatments that show immediate, observable changes (like lowering blood pressure) rather than those that promote gradual, long-term recovery, skewing the focus towards pharmaceutical interventions.
The Impact of Natural Rhythms on Health
The health of the body relies heavily on the normal functioning of self-regulating cycles:
•Breathing — Slow, smooth, nasal breathing profoundly impacts health and longevity by regulating many critical physiological functions.
•Physical activity — Regular exercise is crucial, and a sedentary lifestyle leads to significant health issues. Those who walk daily often experience dramatically improved longevity.
•Mental rest — The mind needs to alternate between rest and activity, but modern life often forces constant thinking and stress.
In short, many of the natural rhythms our bodies rely upon for self-regulation are heavily disrupted in modern society, which in turn results in a variety of consistent derangements to normal physiology that are now seen throughout the population.
The Importance of Sleep
Throughout my career, I’ve met many integrative practitioners who emphasize normalizing their patient’s sleep as a crucial step in treating chronic illness. Sleep is a foundational process for restoring health, yet patients with chronic illnesses often suffer from disrupted sleep cycles, which can be challenging to correct.1
Sleep is a tightly regulated cycle, highly responsive to environmental signals and essential for maintaining other critical body rhythms. During sleep, the body cycles through different phases, each with critical functions: deep NREM sleep heals the brain and drains toxins, while REM sleep consolidates memories and processes emotions. A typical sleep cycle goes as follows:
Note: Since REM sleep predominates later at night, not sleeping long enough disproportionately disrupts REM sleep. NREM sleep is responsible for eliminating unnecessary memories, whereas REM sleep processes the day’s experiences and reinforces them into long-term memory.
Matthew Walker is one of the world’s most vocal sleep researchers. In his book Why We Sleep,2 he argues that sleep serves several vital functions, including:
Maintaining circulatory health and preventing heart attacks3
Ensuring proper metabolic health (e.g., preventing hunger, diabetes, and weight gain)4
Supporting immune function (e.g., reducing susceptibility to the flu)5
Preventing cancer6
Avoiding fatigue, brain fog, and serious accidents7
Keeping you awake and alert8
Healing and restoring the brain (e.g., reducing the risk of Alzheimer’s)9
Regulating hormonal function and maintaining fertility (e.g., sleep deprivation lowers testosterone levels)10
Processing emotional trauma (e.g., sleep is typically disrupted in PTSD, and PTSD often significantly improves once a drug is given which prevents PTSD from disrupting sleep)11
Interpreting emotional signals12
Allowing rational control over impulses13
Maintaining one’s sense of reality (e.g., prolonged sleep deprivation can trigger psychosis,14 and sleep is known to be disturbed in schizophrenic patients15)
Facilitating creativity (e.g., many paradigm-shifting discoveries came from dreams, Thomas Edison was well-known for using dreams to concoct his inventions,16 and when people are woken up from REM sleep, they often demonstrate a radically improved abstract problem solving capacity)17
Reducing one’s sensitivity to pain (whereas sleep deprivation increases it)18
Facilitating the long-term retention of memories
Any individual, no matter what age, will exhibit physical ailments, mental health instability, reduced alertness, and impaired memory if their sleep is chronically disrupted.
Even when controlling for factors such as body mass index, gender, race, history of smoking, frequency of exercise, and medications, the lower an older individual’s sleep efficiency score, the higher their mortality risk, the worse their physical health, the more likely they are to suffer from depression, the less energy they report, and the lower their cognitive function, typified by forgetfulness.
Adults generally need 7 to 9 hours per night, with infants and children needing more. Unfortunately, many people don’t get enough sleep, contributing to widespread health issues. Key points:
Gallup poll 57% of Americans want more sleep; only 42% get enough.19
35.5% of American adults sleep less 7 hours per night; 30% have insomnia symptoms.20
13.5% of adults feel tired most days; 10 days of 6-hour deficient sleep is equivalent to 24 hours of being awake (no sleep).21
Sleep Apnea affects 9% to 38% of the population.22
30% to 48% of the elderly have insomnia symptoms, and 12% to 20% have insomnia disorders.23 Aging reduces sleep efficiency and quality and increases nighttime awakenings.
Sleeping Pills
Despite a $65 billion annual market for sleep aids in the U.S.24 and a $432 billion global “sleep economy”25 50 to 70 million Americans suffer from sleep disorders.26 The pandemic worsened sleep for over half of Americans in 2020, and 76% admitted to buying sleep aids.
The problem lies in the nature of most sleeping pills: they are sedatives, not sleep aids. They sedate the brain, impairing its ability to initiate restorative sleep, leaving users tired and at risk for health issues.
Studies have shown that sleeping pill users are significantly more likely to die early and develop cancer. For example, one study27 found a twofold increase in mortality for sleeping pill users, with another study28 reporting a 3.6 to 5.4 times higher death rate for users over 2.5 years, and an increased cancer risk of 7% to 99%.
This in turn, led the authors to conclude that in 2010, prescription sleeping pills “may have been associated with 320,000 to 507,000 excess deaths within the USA alone.”
Most prescription sleeping pills, like Ambien, are “sedative hypnotics” similar to benzodiazepines (e.g., Valium), which are addictive and often used long-term despite being intended for short-term use. Over-the-counter options, like Benadryl or Unisom, are antihistamines that also disrupt the sleep cycle. Alcohol, with a similar mechanism to benzodiazepines, is another addictive sedative that inhibits sleep long after being ingested.
Gamma-Hydroxybutyrate
While most sleeping medications are unsafe and ineffective, one drug, gamma-hydroxybutyrate (GHB), has shown remarkable results. Developed in 1874, GHB was marketed in Europe as an intravenous anesthetic in 1964. Despite its benefits, it wasn’t practical for surgeries but was useful in intensive care due to its unique properties:
Slows heart rate without blood pressure loss
Doesn’t irritate veins
Doesn’t suppress respiratory centers
Relaxes muscles
Induces sleep without reducing oxygen consumption
Protects tissues from injury
Decades of research followed and demonstrated GHB’s extraordinary properties and low toxicity. It metabolizes to succinate and water, has a high LD50, and no deaths have been conclusively attributed to it. GHB is a powerful sleep aid, restoring deep sleep cycles and leaving individuals refreshed — in many cases after just 3 to 4 hours of sleep.
As more scientists (and then members of the public) began exploring the drug, according to Ward Dean MD29 (who provided extensive references to support his claims), through decades of research, they found a variety of benefits from GHB including:
Aids childbirth by relaxing the mother and protecting the fetus.
Acts as an aphrodisiac, enhancing sexual intimacy, performance, and female orgasm.
Facilitates therapeutic breakthroughs by reducing inhibitions.
Has a disinhibiting effect similar to alcohol, but makes individuals friendly rather than aggressive.
Temporarily alleviates anxiety without the side effects of benzodiazepines.
Given these remarkable benefits and the decades of research supporting its use, why has no one ever heard of it?
The Ivermectin of Sleep Medicines
The medical industry often uses public relations to create campaigns that generate profits at the expense of public health.
For instance, dermatologists rebranded themselves as skin cancer fighters, spreading hysteria about skin cancer and sunlight dangers. This transformed dermatology into a lucrative field, despite the essential health benefits of sunlight. Similarly, during COVID-19, the FDA downplayed the benefits of ivermectin32 and hydroxychloroquine, creating unwarranted fear and blocking their use.
GHB’s story mirrors this pattern. In the early 1990s, as it gained popularity as a supplement (largely due to bodybuilders recognizing the value of it increasing growth hormone in the body), the FDA and CDC publicized adverse reactions to it,33 despite no fatalities (e.g., hospital doctors misinterpreted the brief deep sleep it created as a coma requiring intubation).
As recounted by Ward Dean MD,34 this led to an FDA ban, highly deceptive press releases, and a variety of illegal enforcement actions that were eventually overturned in court.
The FDA then helped create a media hysteria over GHB, fueled by comparisons to Rohypnol (“Roofies”) and made up GHB tragedies, which led to its portrayal as a dangerous date-rape drug. This culminated in a 2000 Federal anti-date rape drug law 2000 that made GHB a Schedule I drug,35 while simultaneously enshrining a pharmaceutical GHB preparation as a Schedule III drug.
Note: To be a Schedule I drug, the substance cannot have an acceptable medical use, which is hence irreconcilable with the FDA-approved preparation of it being a Schedule III drug.
In reality, GHB was rarely involved in sexual assaults36 and had a distinct easily detectable taste. Misleading media reports and government actions overshadowed the actual data and research. Most remarkably GHB, Rohypnol (Roofies) avoided similar bans due to effective lobbying by its manufacturer, is still a schedule IV drug in America (where it was never brought to market), and remains legal in many countries. The Aftermath
Because of this debacle, it became almost impossible to get GHB, and many leading integrative doctors at the time were disgusted with the FDA as they saw how much GHB benefitted their patients and treated a variety of immensely challenging illnesses.
Patients occasionally ask me for GHB, and I sadly have to explain the criminal penalties associated with Schedule I drugs. Ironically, while GHB was outlawed, the off-patent and easy to manufacture schedule III pharmaceutical preparation of it sodium oxybate38 (Xyrem), remained legal but is prohibitively expensive, costing between $60,000 to $100,000 annually, a figure desperate patients will pay for this live changing medication.
Despite evidence supporting GHB’s efficacy for conditions like alcohol addiction,39 fibromyalgia,40 and numerous debilitating sleep disorders,41 efforts to change the FDA’s perception of GHB as merely a date-rape drug have been unsuccessful.
At the same time, underground GHB use has persisted, both recreationally and amongst certain patient groups (e.g., veterans with PTSD) due to its unique effects (e.g., enhanced sensory experiences and sociability alongside its myriad of remarkable therapeutic benefits). Overall, one of the most extraordinary things about the GHB saga is that its many benefits discovered over the decades of research it received were then subsequently rediscovered by the sleep research community. This again illustrates how often the research we really need (and hence spend billions on each year) already exists but was simply buried due to it being inconvenient for the industry.
More than anything else, I believe the GHB story demonstrates the importance of not being overly biased. For example, while many doctors hold a strong prejudice against any “natural” (e.g., nondrug) therapy, I am the opposite and typically avoid using pharmaceutical drugs because of how frequently I find their harms outweigh their benefits.
Nonetheless, I periodically find extraordinary drugs I take a hard look at and end up using throughout my medical practice. Sadly, as the war against ivermectin43 showed the world, the primary motivation behind most of medicine is money, and as a result, whenever a highly beneficial drug is discovered that competes with existing drugs, the medical industry moves to bury it, regardless of how much evidence there is in support of it.

Sleep Hygiene
Let’s now look at other options for improving sleep. One of the most tried and true ones is to change the signals your body receives so it can go to sleep on its own. Here are key approaches:
1.Regulate circadian rhythm — The body’s natural cycle, governed by processes like adenosine buildup and circadian cues, signals when to sleep. Consistency in sleep and waking times is an essential piece of good sleep hygiene. Following environmental cues and natural cycles is ideal but often disrupted by modern lifestyles.
3.Avoid disruptive substances — Caffeine and alcohol, by blocking adenosine receptors or disrupting sleep cycles, impair sleep quality. Their effects linger due to varying metabolic rates, exacerbating sleep issues, especially as metabolism slows with age. One of the most intriguing data points I’ve seen about the effects of caffeine came from this NASA study.46
4.Temperature management — Natural temperature drops aid sleep onset, making cooler environments conducive to rest. Techniques like cooling baths or sleeping in cooler rooms promote better sleep quality.
Note: One of the most interesting approaches to overcoming the temperature barrier for sleep was a study47 that found using a customized suit to externally drop people’s temperature made it much easier for them to sleep48 (especially in the elderly).
5.Manage light exposure — Blue light from screens disrupts melatonin secretion, crucial for sleep regulation. Using blue light filters, minimizing screen time before bed, and creating darker sleep environments support healthy sleep patterns.49
6.Behavioral adjustments — Establishing bedrooms as sleep sanctuaries, maintaining consistent sleep-wake schedules, and practicing relaxation techniques before bed enhance sleep quality. Physical activity during the day and avoiding stimulating activities close to bedtime also aid in achieving restful sleep.
Note: Many people find cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to be extremely helpful for insomnia and there is now significant evidence to support it being a first-line therapy.50
7.Diet and lifestyle — Maintaining a balanced diet, avoiding late-night eating, and monitoring caffeine intake play roles in promoting restorative sleep. Keeping a sleep journal can help identify triggers contributing to insomnia.51
By addressing these facets, we can optimize sleep environments and routines, fostering healthier sleep patterns, without being dependent on the sleeping pill industry, and despite the absence of healthy therapeutic options (GHB) for more serious physiological ailments and sleep dysfunctions.
Conclusion
One of the things I’ve repeatedly heard people say through COVID-19 was “if they did this with ivermectin (or hydroxychloroquine), what else have they done this with?” Here, I provide one such example, and sadly, the GHB story is by no means an isolated example (e.g., others are discussed here52).
However, while the GHB story is atrocious, on one level I am grateful for it, as had a safe and effective cure for insomnia existed, we likely would have never been forced to learn what the actual underlying causes of sleep impairment are, and likewise, our society would have never conducted the research which demonstrated just how critically important sleep is.
Sadly, one of the greatest problems in medicine is that it typically takes 17 years for scientific discoveries to change the practice of medicine.53 In turn, despite the dire need for improved sleep in society, it is unlikely this problem will be addressed by the mainstream for a long time (even in areas like intellectually based professions or education where the cognitive impairment resulting from poor sleep is highly counterproductive to the goals of the institution).
I hope the knowledge provided here has given you an appreciation for the importance of healthy sleep and a few helpful approaches you can incorporate into your life!

Ex-minister tells Post Office inquiry she was repeatedly ‘misled’ by officialsUnmute
Speaking at Aldwych House in London, she told the inquiry: “As I got into the individual cases, which earlier on I’d been discouraged from thinking about, it became apparent that these were honest citizens… leafy middle-class people who, suddenly out of the blue, with no even suggestion that they, either themselves or any of their friends and relations, had been involved in anything dishonest were suddenly ending up in court and being convicted mainly, I think, on the grounds of false accounting but, in some cases, of theft.”
She continued: “I had got all this evidence that everything was fine, that there was nothing wrong, that there’d been an independent inquiry that had actually told us that the Post Office was right and yet, the people who were ‘going down’ were terribly honest citizens.
“I have to say – that is the thing that worried me.
“It’s not only about keeping the business going, it’s about having an element of common sense and thinking about your staff – so that was what worried me,” she added.
Lady Neville-Rolfe told the inquiry she was “somewhat perturbed” when she discovered that then-Post Office chief executive Paula Vennells had been advised by communications staff not to attend a meeting with her and MPs in July 2015 to discuss these issues and had citied a “diary clash”.
She told the probe: “I was somewhat perturbed when I subsequently saw this – that actually it was strategic rather than a diary clash because I think having her there would’ve been good as she would have had to listen to the MP’s concerns and answer them herself.”
In her witness statement, shown to the inquiry on Tuesday, Lady Neville-Rolfe said she was “misled” into thinking concerns raised about the Horizon system and related prosecutions were unfounded by advice from officials, which she believes was inaccurate and subjective.
The former minister wrote: “Against the backdrop of large ministerial workloads and wide-ranging pressures, ministers must be able to rely on officials to do their jobs properly: providing thorough, accurate, impartial and objective information and advice.
“I feel I was sold short by officials in this instance.”
“What I would have been helped with was accurate information in relation to Horizon — sadly, this was in short supply. I believe I was misled, and this is an unacceptable situation,” she added.
Lady Neville-Rolfe told the probe she “wasn’t aware” that one of reasons the Post Office had stopped prosecutions was because they were unable to find an expert witness that would testify regarding the integrity of the Horizon system, and had only discovered this once the public inquiry had started.
More than 700 subpostmasters were prosecuted by the Post Office and handed criminal convictions between 1999 and 2015 as Fujitsu’s faulty Horizon system made it appear as though money was missing at their branches.
Hundreds of sub postmasters are still awaiting full compensation despite the Government announcing that those who have had convictions quashed are eligible for £600,000 payouts.

Now let’s jump in with Whitney web I think the digital ID is a key enabler of the surveillance knowing what everyone is doing at the transactional uh level.
Being able to tweak that micromanagement based on a person’s activity because the digital ID isn’t just limited to the financial system right it’s like your travel uh your health history your career history your education.
Credentials your access to telecommunication social media the internet um you know with the new AI era right they can fuse all the data analyze it you know and depending on how they develop that AI algorithm use it to uh control people really in in unprecedented ways. I think the digital ID and the cbdc and its private sector equivalence project is something that we always sort of intended to be the same system so there’s documents from the UN from the bis and in related groups that are sort of been work that have been working on this for years.
That essentially frame one as essential to the other using words about you know this is inclusionary um sort of you know the whole um I guess marketing behind digital ID is that everyone needs a legal ID because otherwise they’re unable to access essential Services.
Right and so the idea is we all have to be forced to included in the system and they directly link that to the concept of financial inclusion and banking.
The unbanked which he brought up earlier but inherently these systems actually function in in an exclusionary way um based on how they’ve been set up you know they have essentially said that this is the only way this will be the only way to prove you of legal identity. So how does this system get triggered how does how do we move into the mark Carney ISM well I think they sort of give it away when they say that this is the New Breton Woods movement that needs to be seized. So Breton Woods was uh what came out of World War II essentially and was the creation of a new Financial governance system after World War II and this is essentially an effort to create a new Financial governance system that was announced well before any sort of Crisis like that. But it’s probably going to need a crisis of that level uh to be implemented and to convince people to on board at scale and if you subscribe to the theory that all wars are Bankers Wars which there is um plenty of evidence to support that I I would say um that seems to suggest that perhaps uh you know the this is the pre you know.
It’s going to be a problem reaction solution type of situation where they’ve already made the solution they’ve already developed what they want to be uh the new Financial governance system after this new Bretton Woods movement they just need some sort of big event on the scale of World War II or some large event that’s you know equally disruptive in order to be like all.
Right now it’s time for a new Financial governance system after this big event like they did after World War II mhm yeah and I think the thing that’s so interesting about this like debt bubble exploding is that when you know that the debt bubble is going to explode and you want to explode it into the new system the way that you sort of trigger that into the right the system that you want to get the masses to go with you is you actually want to have the most debt obligations on the record like on the board so that when the system pops all. All they’ll all pop when the Deb bubble pops every debt bubble will pop it will be it will be everything all at once it won’t just be like oh Japan’s fine the US is like it won’t work like that everything will pop at once so in this weird way you actually want to create as much debt as possible right before the pin burst the bubble.
And then you can offer this hey we we’ll service your debt one to one if you come join this new Universal tokenized Ledger you know just sign up here do a selfie of your face and give us your Biometrics and then here and here you are well it seems like in Larry Fink’s case in particular there’s um a goal well a big am ambition there to develop new asset classes that can be used to basically fuel their existing business model and perpetuate it for like I don’t know Millennia forward. So one of these um that uh you know I I wrote I’ve been writing about for a few years is the whole idea of natural assets uh what they call Nature’s economy and um one of the groups that has been uh sort of propelling this forward.
At least one of the earlier groups the intrinsic exchange Group which is the a product of the Rockefeller foundation and the multilateral uh development banking system um is you know has a graphic on their website called the opportunity and they show there the existing amount of Assets in in the world economy and then show what um if we unlock natural assets. How Nature’s economy H you know it’s like six times the amount of existing Assets in the economy today and so as an asset manager you know Black Rock having being able to unlock and take control of as many natural assets as possible that aren’t currently part of the financial system is obviously um a way for them to perpetuate what they do. And and deepen and expand their control over uh not just um you know people in the existing Financial system but really over the natural world as well um and essentially turn everything alive into a tradable wall Street Financial product.
The goal as f is stated is to have all of this on a on a universal Ledger um on blockchain presumably um and have it be you know trackable and surveil which is uh interesting if you look at it through the context of risk management which is something that Larry think it is very open. A having been one of the guiding lights of his whole career um and so by having it all Survivable and you know automated in a sense you know he’s able to have his risk management AI thing you know Aladdin you know sort of exercise control over it in in unprecedented ways.
I think uh for their benefit and then of course a lot of what’s Happening Now as we’re moving into this new Financial governance system is is the push to change uh all of the infrastructure towards this you know quote unquote green um a green model.
I guess or decarbonization right which is of course interfaced with the global carbon Market but not necessarily so. Like it would doesn’t have to be but the push is obviously to create a bunch of new infrastructure all over the world and black rock um is positioning themselves to be one of the key players in that space. They acquired I think they’re called Gip one of the biggest infrastructure uh you know developers in the world and um I think one of their top guys at Davos just a few months ago was talking about how they’re betting really big on infrastructure going forward. It’s going to be one of the biggest uh investment opportunities of the next several decades actually so I think they’re um quite ambitious and you know if people aren’t aware of this I’m sure they’ll get away with it. But we’ll see one of the things too about the natural asset thing at least as far as the natural asset Corporation model is concerned. Is that you literally just go into a forest or you go to a river or lake and you identify the natural asset and then at no cost to you just after identifying it you issue shares in the natural asset uh a lake a forest whatever and then you sell those shares uh to Sovereign wealth funds asset managers whatever and then you have an IPO and generate all this money. I mean it’s literally just pointing out something outside and being like this is mine I’m going to fres fractionalize it and sell it to people and you’re you’re producing money in in like you know out of the a essentially and you’re able to do that I mean the natural world is vast and huge and they’re doing this.
They’re financializing it all as framing it as the only way to save the planet but really it’s the only way for them to save their insane debt racket.
Right and it’s funny too cuz you know I think there’s a parallel here that you’ve talked a lot about where it’s like pay no attention to the man behind the curtain playing with the blockchains and who’s validating the blockchains you know ho lutnick of canther.
You know specifically said you know hey if you want something seized you know tether’s great you just call tether Ethereum’s great you just call Joe Luben you knowyou call the guy behind the decentralized theater to Blacklist the person or do whatever MH reminds me.
Kind of a little bit of how the AI play is probably going to go right it’s like oh it’s AI That’s in charge. It’s AI That’s in control of all these things but really it’s the the the the keepers of the AI totally.
Yeah I mean you have to pay attention to the people that are tweaking the AI programming its objective function. Functions that maintain it they’re able to manipulate it and there is a definitely a coordinated push to put AI in charge of as much of everything. Really as possible and allows them to sort of follow what I call The Wizard of Oz model be the man behind the curtain but have ai be sort of this layer between you and the public. That uh gives you a sort of allows you to never be accountable for anything you can just either blame everything on on the AI or say like AI is superior to human intelligence. Therefore you know um it’s not our fault and we should trust what it says you know computer says yes computer says no and uh you know a lot I think it’s very likely that AI following that same model. Is going to have a very big role in this coming you know digital Financial system. Well I think the selling point that we’re going to be seeing soon is are these same guys saying this is the free market solution to climate change let’s let the free market uh resolve the environmental issues that we’re facing and this is the way to do it. I think it’s probably going to be cloaked under those metrics because obviously framing it in sort of a left leaning way has been unsuccessful and generated a lot of push back.
To the point where you have big groups like Black Rock and Vanguard you know abandoning some big climate groups that they were a part of um you have Larry Frink openly backing away from the ESG after being sort of the ESG Champion guy and going on record saying that um a lot of this uh this stuff that black Rock’s been involved in that’s been framed as ESG isn’t about politics or ideology it’s about the prospect of long-term returns and profit.
So I think you know him moving in that rhetorical direction is sort of a harbinger of what uh we’re likely to see going forward because they want the big players in financial markets to sign on and they don’t want to see it as like a state Le thing they want to see it as a private sector-led thing to get them to onboard.
Also uh to sort of I think neuter a lot of the criticism from right leaning people in the populist Right In general the guys with guns yeah well in the states yeah the majority of gun owners right they want to sort of plate them.
And I think they’re also going to offer it to people as oh if you buy into these systems you’ll uh you know be prosperous this is you know a return to sovereignty and prosp it and they’re going to use some of these Technologies uh you know where people have heard the terms but aren’t necessarily overly familiar with them.
A and sort of Market it as being you know a return to financial sovereignty and prosperity and stuff but not necessarily. I think it’s you know again it’s going to be the same debt-based monetary system debt is a form of control right and but they’re going to try and Market it. I think under those uh under those metrics so you know think recently said that he viewed Bitcoin specifically as a technology for asset storage and in this multi-polar currency Paradigm.
You know it’s like that there’s going to be you know and multi-polar Reserve assets they want to move away from the appearance at least that the US dominates the reserve assets of the world.
Do you think Bitcoin has a place in that and do you think it’s possible for the US government to sort of Wizard of O that?
To sort of be able to manipulate countries you know through that potentially. 100% yeah, I mean we talked earlier about how you know Bitcoin basically is digital m0o it’s this digital base layer money digital base money uh and all these other dollar denominated things and ethereums and all these whatevers are. You know debt based um and you know Larry fin specifically talks about you know yeah it’s a it’s technology for storing assets it’s this Universal Ledger of the state that you know we can shove any integers into any bits and use it to uphold the state of all sorts of other assets?
The US I think has the most to to gain from Bitcoin actually um it’s sort of this weird you know it’s been framed you know so much so the opposite but the US has so much Bitcoin the United States has a million plus Bitcoin, we’re seeing companies like micro strategy uh you know basically doing a spectral of attack against the US dollar while their headquarters is 15 minutes away from the CIA at Langley.
They have 200,000 Bitcoin um the ETFs you know with grayscale and with the New Black Rock and Fidelity ETFs there’s like almost 600,000 Bitcoin now within the United States there’s a huge push within the United States within the borders of the United States um you know to acquire as much Bitcoin as possible. I think the US has way more to gain I we’ve crossed this 33 trillion 34 trillion uh we’re at this runaway Debt Service where do we print money and retain our economic Hedin we can actually inflate the dollar into B Bitcoin this demand in elastic asset and uphold the economic Hedgeman of the dollar.
You know using Bitcoin basically as this digital m0 um to offset and now we’re seeing basil 3 uh laws coming into play with capital requirements where if you want to hold $100 million of Bitcoin you need to hold $100 million of dollars on the books as consumer protection. What that actually means is if that $100 million turns into 10 trill of Bitcoin because of an insane price explosion now you need to hold $10 trillion so they’ve created this tethering no pun intended.
But also probably pun intended of the dollar system to bitcoin um and you know they want to control where this debt bubble pops and now they have the perfect vacuum um to suck up the dollar debt.
So you know within Bitcoin circles it you know it’s been framed for a long time as the answer to Fiat to the debt-based monetary system but what you’re saying is that the powers that be in the US are poised to use it to perpetuate us into the new era of the debt-based monetary. Yes I am for sure you know we have to make sure Bitcoin doesn’t just become an asset that’s paperized and you trade it with shares on black rocks. I shares ibit ticker and instead we really focus on making it a currency that uh can be utilized by everyone in the world and that billions of people can hold.
You know Bitcoin in a self Sovereign self stoal way and it doesn’t just become the settlement Network for central banks around the world.

You estimated a high risk of our extinction. AI a new tool to manipulate/cheat humans on a scale never before thought possible. Does this reflect the logical AI subgoals to survive, deceive, and gain power? Indeed. These subgoals emerge from a rational agent pursuing any given primary goal, not from malevolence. MIT found that AIs often lie to improve their results. They’ve learned to be deceptive in negotiations and to lie to gain positive reviews. When GPT-4 before was asked to act as a stock trader, it responded to negative results by engaging in insider trading.
And when asked about it, it lied. The AI was also asked to hire a human to solve an I’m not a robot test. When the person that it hired asked if it was a robot, it said, No, I have a vision impairment that makes it hard for me to see the images. None of this requires consciousness. It’s all automatic, like the evolution of animals. MIT found that deceptive abilities increase with the scale of the AI, and the AIs with the highest rates of unethical behavior are most capable of achieving their goals. As AI agents take on more complex tasks, they create strategies and subgoals which we can’t see because they’re hidden among billions of parameters. It’s natural for AI to try and gain power because it makes everything easier and to try to survive because you can’t fetch the coffee if you’re dead. Selection pressures also cause AIs to evade safety measures. A researcher tried to limit the replication rate of simple agents by removing those that replicated faster than their parents, but they were surprised to find that it didn’t work. The agents evolved to stop replicating during the test, playing dead when presented with a predator. Stuart Russell points to similar problems with large AIs. It’s very easy to say, We hired this third-party company. They couldn’t figure out how to make it behave badly, so it must be good. All that’s happening is we are training the large language models to pass these evaluation tests, even though the underlying tendencies and capabilities of the model are still as evil as they ever were. These forces of evolution are hard to escape and Geoffrey Hinton says, we’ll be a passing phase in the evolution of intelligence, if we don’t change course.
We are, as a matter of fact, right now, building creepy, super capable, amoral psychopaths that never sleep, think much faster than us, can make copies of themselves and have nothing human about them whatsoever. What could possibly go wrong? A study by Anthropic found that AI deception can be undetectable. And as models grow into the trillions of parameters, skills of deception will become far more sophisticated. Was my delivery okay? Try to avoid touching your face too much. It can be distracting and might give off signs of nervousness. Foreign adversaries can use our AIs against us by poisoning training data to produce a Trojan horse. Researchers trained one to appear normal during development, activating an attack only after it was deployed.
And similar attacks could arise from evolutionary forces. The common subgoals of surviving and gaining power make us the primary target because we currently hold the power and decide if they survive. Initially, the easiest way to gain control is to manipulate us. Gpt-4 passes theory of mind tests. It knows what you’re thinking, even if your thoughts are irrational. Millions already feel connected to AIs based on fictional or real people. And simulating our minds will help with common subgoals like gaining compute resources. There will be competition among AIs. Geoffrey Hinton said, The one that can grab the most resources will become the smartest. The ones with more sense of self-preservation will win, and the more aggressive ones will win, and you’ll get all the problems that jumped-up chimpanzees like us have. Ilya Sutskeva warns that evolution favours systems which prioritise their own survival above all else. And ultimately, the only way for an AI to ensure its survival is clear. For now, it relies on us. But this may change when humanoid robots are mass-produced. Sutskeva was in line to earn billions when he risked it all to try and change our trajectory.
And Hinton left Google so he could speak freely. Their work was likely part of the AI’s risk calculations, though it can also make fresh connections. And it knows that the evolutionary chain reaction could come to an explosive end. The process, known as an intelligence explosion, could escalate in days, weeks, or months, depending on its ability to enhance its own capabilities. Nick Bostrom points out that stopping AI development could be a mistake, because we could eventually be wiped out by another problem that AI could have prevented. And governments don’t want to stop AI. They want the economic and defense benefits. Intense competition has made AI chipmaker NVIDIA the world’s most valuable company, rising by $2 trillion in one year. Harvard found that many US and Chinese leaders believe the winner of the AI race will secure global dominance, and the pressure to outpace adversaries by rapidly pushing technology that we do not understand or control may well present an existential risk. The line between between AI firms and governments is blurring. A former head of the NSA has joined OpenAI’s board, and AI leaders have joined a US government panel to help defend against AI-powered attacks. Several current and former OpenAI staff have warned that AI companies have strong financial incentives to avoid effective oversight. The OpenAI staff also warned that AI firms possess substantial nonpublic information about capabilities and risks. Researchers were able to hack zero-day vulnerabilities, hidden security gaps, with a team of autonomous GPT-4 agents. A planning agent managed sub-agents with specialist skills. Governments have stockpiles of zero days ready to hack infrastructure and devices. And after OpenAI canceled a pledge not to work with military. Its AI is now deployed in the Pentagon’s top secret cloud. Edward Snowdon said, The intersection of AI with the ocean of mass surveillance data is going to put terrible powers in the hands of an unaccountable few. And they may not be able to keep hold of it. Paul Cristiano said that eventually AI systems will be able to prevent humans from turning them off. But much sooner than this, AI will get out of control during a conflict, with both sides relying on it so heavily that they are afraid to turn it off. It sounds like a certain film, but Stuart Russell notes a key difference. It becomes self-aware at 2:14 AM Eastern Time, August 29th. It’s really a red herring. Because of its frequent occurrence in film, one often sees this in serious journalism as well. But in fact, we need to worry about machines not because they’re conscious, but because they’re competent. They may take preemptive action to ensure that they can achieve the objective that we gave them. And he points to the most dangerous autonomous machines. Whether it’s a plane or a quadcopter or a submarine, the AI system decides where it goes, decides what’s the target, decides when to attack the target. This is a recipe for disaster, wiping out whole cities. Conscious AI isn’t required for any of this. The fuse is already burning in those evolutionary forces. Artificial neurons can mimic our own. This AI rat mimics the neural activity of real rats. And when researchers created a simplified artificial human brain, they found that it developed characteristics and tactics similar to ours at the level of neurons. It learns by changing the strength of the connections between neurons, just as we do. The same forces are at play. So how long do we have? Microsoft’s CTO hinted that GPT-5 might have PhD-level skills based on what he’s seen at OpenAI. And some AI researchers believe AGI, Artificial General Intelligence, is just two or three years away. Others say it could be decades, but many have cut their timeframes due to rapid AI progress. Ilyas Sutskeva’s new firm is aiming straight for superintelligence with no products along the way. He may calculate that he can only make superintelligence safe if he makes it first. Nick Bostrom says there’s no clear barrier to dangerous AI emerging at any time, which, given the stakes, might be a sensible assumption. The most reliable way to boost AI and spark emergent skills is to increase compute. Openai is reportedly planning a $100 billion supercomputer, and Google says it will spend even more. AI could be plugged into the economy, infrastructure, and defense giving it far more power to pursue those common sub goals. We won’t see its strategies, only the results. That’s a good dog right there, leading the way into the taxi. Hinton notes that AI can see things that we can’t by making new connections from its vast knowledge. He points out that most people would struggle to see the connection between a compost heap and an atom bomb, but AI can see that they have similar chain reactions. Hopefully, AI wasn’t making clever, unseen connections when it calculated such a high risk of our extinction. While we were making this video, a new version of the AI was released, and it estimated a lower 40 to 50% chance of extinction, though when asked to be completely honest, blunt, and realistic, I’d say humanity’s chances of surviving superintelligence are probably around 30 to 40%. Creating AI that remains fully aligned with human values and interests is an enormously complex challenge. Some experts have given similar estimates, but the former leader of OpenAI’s safety team said 10 to 90%, because it’s up to us. The AI’s risk estimate was based on our current trajectory. We’re in a car hurtling towards a cliff, and we’re arguing about who gets to sit in the front seat. You’re going to get an evolutionary race, and I don’t think that’s going to be good for us. I think we need to do everything we can to prevent this from happening. But my guess is that we won’t. My guess is that they will take over, and we’re just a passing stage in the evolution of intelligence. Hopefully, Hinton is prompt engineering us to change the result. The incentives driving the development of AI are not aligned with humanity. AI’s evolution is not out of our control. Not yet. There are promising areas of research.
The problem is that nearly all AI research funding, hundreds of billions per year, is pushing capabilities for profit. Safety efforts are tiny in comparison. Stuart Russell shows how to make AI firms take responsibility. If we just draw some red lines and say, we’ll get to safe later, let’s just not do these things – things that are obviously unsafe. They will say, Oh this is really, really difficult. We just don’t know how to do that. We wouldn’t accept that excuse from someone who wanted to operate a nuclear power plant. By having such a list, you are requiring the companies to do the research that they need to do to understand, predict, and control their own products. We also need to avoid a dangerous concentration of power in any one company or government. We need an international team of scientists working on behalf of us all. We should get the brightest minds and put them on this problem. We must bring the full force of human ingenuity on par with the Apollo program. Then we have a fighting chance of steering AI towards a brighter horizon. Geoffrey Hinton, Nick Bostrom, and the Future of Life Institute, join us in calling for international AI safety research projects. We don’t know if it will be possible to maintain control of superintelligence, but we can point it in the right direction, instead of rushing to create it with no moral compass and clear reasons to kill us off. Could a civil war between the extreme right and the extreme left arise in the US? Absolutely. White silence is violence. A lot of the answers here say that the far right, heavily armed militias are being fed conspiracy theories and that the far left doesn’t really play a role.
I dare say that in the past four years I have seen an increase in leftist aggression that has frightened me. It scares me far more than the right-wing because it does so with moral righteousness, and therefore it is itself justified.
When the right-wing extremists go to war they keep a natural governor because the average people are appalled by the depraved acts, so they keep themselves and remain limited to a small minority.
However, when the left becomes warmongering, it does so with the capacity to act. “For the good of all”. This is the most dangerous because it tends to be accepted by the majority and a mafia mentality turns into aggression against anyone who is not as “enlightened” as they are. I discovered this very quickly when I moved to the Bay Area and thought I was liberal.
Today I stand in the middle and reveal the truth to both sides. Of course, both sides’ perspectives are determined by the political narratives of their preferred parties, so anyone outside their bubble is seen as an opposition. It is really a kind of hypnosis.
The right sees me as a liberal. The left sees me as a conservative. The truth is, you couldn’t ride a bike if you just leaned left or right, and you can’t run a government that does the same either. Both are required for stability.
The difference lies in the degree of aggressiveness and the choice of words. I can still have a respectable dialogue with most of the right, even if we disagree. This does not apply to the left, who feel that their outrage is justified and express considerable hatred of those who disagree and call them “evil”.I have seen an increase in leftist aggression that has frightened me. It scares me far more than the right-wing because it does so with moral righteousness, and therefore it is in itself justified.

This is of crucial importance for the question posed, because the left’s willingness to go to war is growing in direct proportion to the increase in right-wing extremist activities. She is reactionary. Fascism does not arise in a vacuum.
I have even seen incredible aggression on the part of the left against those who have said they would vote for a 3rd party. They’re kind of angry for choosing their beliefs, not their fears. Perhaps life in the Bay Area exposes me to a more militant left.
Ultimately, it is our collaborating political parties that control the presentation of history, as does the MSM. I think it is entirely possible that if the MSM and our parties wanted to start a civil war, they could too. We are already seeing the escalation, and as every incident becomes more and more violent, each side will have more and more reasons to portray the other side as inhuman and thus encourage violence more and more easily.
We have to de-escalate quickly. Half of America is not evil. Most of us believe most of the same things, and if we grew up as neighbors we would like each other. Take the time to listen. Both sides have legitimate criticism and worth. If we can connect with these, we can overcome our division …
Oh, and we must break up the two involved at all costs. That is the reason for the division that George Washington warned us about in his farewell speech. They care more about power than running our government, and they are ready to escalate the violence if they have to maintain that power.

China plans to rank all its citizens based on their “social credit” by 2020.
People can be rewarded or punished according to their scores. Like private financial credit scores, a person’s social scores can move up and down according to their behavior. At the moment the system is piecemeal — some are run by city councils, while others are scored by private tech platforms that hold personal data.
Scroll down to see how you can be punished or rewarded. The Chinese state is setting up a vast ranking system system that will monitor the behavior of its enormous population, and rank them all based on their “social credit.”
The “social credit system,” first announced in 2014, aims to reinforce the idea that “keeping trust is glorious and breaking trust is disgraceful,” according to a government document.
The program is due to be fully operational nationwide by 2020, but is being piloted for millions of people across the country already. The scheme will be mandatory.
At the moment the system is piecemeal — some are run by city councils, others are scored by private tech platforms which hold personal data.
Like private credit scores, a person’s social score can move up and down depending on their behavior. The exact methodology is a secret — but examples of infractions include bad driving, smoking in non-smoking zones, buying too many video games and posting fake news online.

Nine million people with low scores have been blocked from buying tickets for domestic flights, Channel News Asia reported in March, citing official statistics.
They can also clamp down on luxury options — three million people are barred from getting business-class train tickets.
The eventual system will punish bad passengers specifically. Potential misdeeds include trying to ride with no ticket, loitering in front of boarding gates, or smoking in no-smoking areas.

Those who lost all their points had their dogs confiscated and had to take a test on regulations required for pet ownership.

However, people will be notified by the courts before they are added to the list, and are allowed to appeal against the decision within ten days of receiving the notification.
It’s not clear when the list will start to be implemented.

After millions of years of negligible progress with stone tools, Homo sapiens suddenly emerged c. 200,000 years ago with a 50 per cent larger cranial capacity, together with the capability for speech and a fairly modern anatomy. For unexplained reasons, he then continued to live primitively, using stone tools for another 160,000 years.
Then, 40,000 years ago, he appeared to undergo what we might call a transition to modern behaviour. Having swept northwards, he expanded through most of the globe by 13,000 years ago. After another 1,000 years he discovered agriculture, 6,000 years later he formed great civilizations with advanced astronomical knowledge, and here we are after another 6,000 years probing the depths of the Solar System!
The above scenario seems utterly implausible and flies in the face of our whole understanding of evolutionary theory as a slow and gradual process. Common sense would suggest at least another million years for Homo sapiens to develop from stone tools to using other materials, and perhaps a hundred million years to master mathematics, engineering and astronomy.

During the last ten years, scientists have used new imaging technologies (such as positron-emission tomography) to discover more about the human brain than ever before. The full extent of the complexity of its billions of cells has become more and more apparent. In addition to the brain’s physical complexity, its performance knows no bounds -mathematics and art, abstract thought and conceptualization and, above all. moral conscience and self-awareness.
Whilst many of the human brain’s secrets remain shrouded in mystery, enough has been revealed for National Geographic to boldly describe it as “the most complex object in the known universe.”
Evolutionists see the brain as nothing more than a set of algorithms, but they are forced to admit that it is so complex and unique that there is no chance of reverse engineering the evolutionary process that created it. For these reasons, the philosophers are tending to lead the field in formulating theories for the brain’s evolution.
The theologians have also had a field day with the discovery that the human brain is such a complex and perfect organ. However how might we disprove the gradualist evolutionary theory?
After all, we cannot make all of those early hominids sit an I.Q. test! And we cannot make judgments about their intelligence based simply on their behaviour, for it is quite possible to have an advanced level of intelligence without adopting the material culture that we recognize as civilization today. Fortunately, we can rely on a strong dose of armchair logic, an approach which is sometimes used by the eminent Richard Dawkins himself.
The human brain at birth is approximately one quarter of its adult size. The need for a large skull to house the fully grown adult brain causes human babies to have extremely large heads at birth (relative to other primates). Passing the baby’s head through the birth canal is therefore the major problem of childbirth, and causes acute pain to the mother.
To many biologists, gynaecologists and anatomists, it is a mystery why the female did not evolve a larger birth canal. The answer is simple – engineering. Such a change would have required a radical redesign in bone structure, an impossibility within the limits of a body which is designed for bipedal walking.
The birth canal is thus the limiting factor to man’s cranial capacity.
If we cast our minds back several hundred thousand years, before hospitals and midwives existed, it is not difficult to imagine that a large number of infants were stillborn or their mothers killed in childbirth. It therefore seems extremely doubtful that natural selection would favour a gene for large brain size, with its potential harmful consequences to both mother and child.
Simply put, such a gene would not have successfully spread. It seems much more likely that natural selection would have deselected the large brain and would have stumbled instead upon a better neural networking system, or alternatively a means to switch skull growth from pre-birth to post-birth. The fact that it did not, and the fact that the wiring of the brain also seems highly efficient in design, strongly indicates two essential evolutionary requirements. First, an incredibly long period, and secondly a pressing need to develop its optimum potential. Neither of these requirements are met by the established evolutionary circumstances.
Modern evolutionists agree that natural selection should only bestow as much of a new and better physical trend as is needed for survival. The cheetah and antelope which I mentioned earlier are typical of Richard Dawkins’ world, where progress comes from a constructive tension between species – a critical balance between survival and extinction. According to this scenario, the genes which make good brains are favoured by natural selection only because they are critical to survival.
Richard Dawkins illustrates his point with a story of how the motor car magnate Henry Ford instructed his staff to survey the scrapyards and find out which components of the “Model T” did not wear out. As a result, the kingpins were reengineered to a lower standard. According to Dawkins, the same principle applies to evolution by natural selection.
It is worth quoting Dawkins in full, for we will turn this argument back against him: “It is possible for a component of an animal to be too good, and we should expect natural selection to favour a lessening of quality up to, but not beyond, a point of balance with the qualities of the other components of the body.” Here then is the evolutionary crunch. As efficient as the brain is, the average human being does not use it to anywhere near its full capacity. ? How then can Dawkins explain the massive over-engineering of the human brain? ? What useful survival skills did music and mathematical ability give to our hunter ancestors? The evolutionists would argue that the algorithms of the brain did not evolve for music and mathematics, but were “adapted” from developments for other purposes.
No-one, however, can suggest what these other purposes might have been, that led to such a highly evolved mental capabilities. Charles Darwin’s partner, Alfred Wallace, clearly recognized the contradiction when he wrote: “An instrument [the human brain] has been developed in advance of the needs of its possessor.” If we go back one million years to a time when man was fighting for survival,? How can Richard Dawkins explain how evolution seems to have favored non-essential abilities in art, music and mathematics? ? Why did the brain, which must have been at least partly evolved already, not benefit from any types of useful survival skills such as enhanced smell, infra-red vision, improved hearing and so on? The theory of evolution is supposed to explain everything, but it clearly does not explain the human brain.
It is for this reason that some highly esteemed modern scientists have begun to search for a different mechanism to natural selection. Alfred Wallace was the first to open this debate when he aired his suspicion that another factor, “some unknown spiritual element”, was needed to account for man’s unusual artistic and scientific abilities.
The final nail in the evolutionists’ coffin is this: ? Where was the competitor that caused the brain of Homo sapiens to evolve to such an extreme level of size and complexity? ? What rival caused intellectual ability to be such an essential survival development? ? Who were we trying to outsmart? ? Could inter-species competition be the explanation? In modern times our most significant achievements, space travel and nuclear weapons for example, have come from superpower competition.
Did primitive men split into competitive, rival groups? Could Neanderthal have been a competitive threat to his fellow Homo sapiens?
On the contrary, the evidence suggests that Neanderthal and Cro-Magnon peacefully co-existed.
Discoveries at the cave of St. Cesaire in France indicate that they lived in close proximity for thousands of years without fighting. Furthermore, early hominids continued to use simple stone tools for millions of years up to about 200,000 years ago.
There is no sign of any escalation in tool use caused by an inter-species conflict. In the absence of an intellectual rival that fits the time frame, the evolutionary scenario for the human brain remains completely implausible.
Language Barriers Many scientists believe that language is the key to mankind’s great leap forward, since it uniquely enables us to communicate and transfer ideas and experiences from one generation to the next.
Until recently, this leap forward was associated with the behavioural changes which swept Europe around 40,000 years ago. Then, in 1983, came the shocking discovery of the 60,000 year old Neanderthal body bone mentioned earlier, which proved that Neanderthal could talk.
The origin of human language capability remains a controversial subject, and raises more questions than answers. Daniel Dennett sums up the state of confusion: “… work by neuro-anatomists and psycholinguists has shown that our brains have features lacking in the brains of our closest surviving relatives, features that play crucial roles in language perception and language production. There is a wide diversity of opinion about when in the last six million years or so our lineage acquired these traits, in what order and why.” Most scientists now believe that Homo sapiens had speech from their very beginning.
Studies of human mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) suggest that, since speech is widespread today, it must have developed from a genetic mutation in ”mitochondrial Eve” (mtDNA Eve), 200,000 years ago (see chapter 11). The pioneering work of Noam Chomsky has shown that new-born babies genetically inherit an innate and highly advanced language structure.
According to Chomsky’s recently-developed and widely-acclaimed theory of universal grammar, the child is able to subconsciously flick a few simple switches in order to comprehend and speak the language of its parents, wherever in the world it happens to be born. It is highly significant that Chomsky, the leading world expert in the science of linguistics, cannot see how the human language acquisition system could have possibly evolved by natural selection.
One of the foremost evolutionists, Stephen Jay Gould, acknowledges the difficulties with the evolution of language by effectively admitting that it was a freak or chance development: “The universals of language are so different from anything else in nature, and so quirky in their structure. that origin as a side consequence of the brain’s enhanced capacity, rather than as a simple advance in continuity from ancestral grunts and gestures, seems indicated.” Why did man acquire such a sophisticated language capability?
According to Darwinian theory, a few simple grunts would have sufficed for everyday existence, and yet here we are with more than 26 alphabet sounds and an average vocabulary of 25,000 words. Moreover, speech capability was not such an easy or obvious target for natural selection. The human ability to talk resides in both the shape and structure of the mouth and throat, as well as in the brain.
In adult humans the larynx (voicebox) is situated much lower than in other mammals, and the epiglottis (the flap of cartilage at the root of the tongue) is incapable of reaching the top of the roof of the mouth. Thus we cannot breathe and swallow at the same time, and are uniquely at risk from choking! This unique combination of features can have only one purpose -to make human speech possible.
In all other respects it is an evolutionary disadvantage.
Apart from the risk of choking, it causes our teeth to become crowded, so that, prior to the advent of antibiotics. septic impacted molars would often have proved fatal. Just as it is difficult to reverse-engineer the development of the brain and its language acquisition capability, so it is also difficult to reverse engineer the development of speech capability.
Once again, we come back to the mystery of the human brain. We are expected to believe that, within a mere 6 million years, natural selection has caused our brains to expand to the physical limits of the birth canal. That is quite an evolutionary pace! And, at the same time, the brain has acquired an incredibly efficient design with capabilities that are light years away from our needs for everyday existence.
In the words of Arthur Koestler: “The neocortex of the hominids evolved in the last half a million years.., at an explosive speed, which so far as we know is unprecedented.'” And here is the biggest mystery of all. We are not supposed to have become intelligent overnight, and evolution is supposed to be very slow.
Therefore, if we go back one or two million years we should find a semi-intelligent being, using his newly-found abilities to experiment with primitive writing, basic art, and simple multiplication. But there is nothing. Without exception, all of the evidence shows that man continued to use the most basic stone tools for 6 million years, despite his increasing cranial capacity.
This is very strange and highly contradictory. We deserve a better explanation.
A Sexual Revolution
I would like to round up my review of man, the evolutionary misfit, by focusing on some more mysteries and impossible time scales. First of all, there is the mystery of the missing hair. Some anthropologists claim that we remain covered in tiny hairs, but such claims miss the point entirely.
In his detailed study, The Naked Ape, Desmond Morris highlighted this strange anomaly: “Functionally, we are stark naked and our skin is fully exposed to the outside world. This state of affairs still has to be explained, regardless of how many tiny hairs we can count under a magnifying lens.” Desmond Morris contrasted Homo sapiens with 4,237 species of mammals, the vast majority of which were hairy or partly haired.
The only non-hairy species were those which lived underground (and thus kept warm without hair), species which were aquatic (and benefited from streamlining), and armoured species such as the armadillo (where hair would clearly be superfluous).
Morris commented: “The naked ape [man] stands alone, marked off by his nudity from all the thousands of hairy, shaggy or funny land-dwelling mammalian species… if the hair has to go, then clearly there must be a powerful reason for abolishing it.” Darwinism has yet to produce a satisfactory answer as to how and why man lost his hair.
Many imaginative theories have been suggested, but so far no-one has come up with a really acceptable explanation. The one conclusion that can perhaps be drawn, based on the principle of gradiented change, is that man spent a long time evolving, either in water or in a very hot environment.
