Foundation are bankrolling gain-of-function research to make bird flu viruses more lethal and transmissible among mammals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>by&nbsp;<a health officials only recently admitted to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/05\/16\/us-news\/nih-director-admits-taxpayers-funded-gain-of-function-research-in-wuhan-four-years-after-covid-pandemic-began\/\">funding gain-of-function research<\/a>&nbsp;at the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China \u2014 but for decades, the U.S. government has funded the same type of dangerous research on&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/childrenshealthdefense.org\/defender\/who-media-fear-bird-flu-spreading-humans\/\">bird flu<\/a>&nbsp;in the U.S.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And that research continues today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.medicalcountermeasures.gov\/BARDA\">BARDA<\/a>), the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.avma.org\/news\/usda-starts-highly-pathogenic-avian-influenza-vaccine-trials\">&nbsp;U.S. Department of Agriculture<\/a>&nbsp;(USDA) \u2014 even the Bill &amp; Melinda Gates Foundation \u2014 have funded or are funding research to make bird flu more pathogenic and\/or more transmissible in mammals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Appearing on the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/rumble.com\/v4vnbqh-big-pharma-hopes-for-another-cash-cow-vaccine-with-bird-flu-gain-of-functio.html\">Kim Iversen Show<\/a>\u201d on May 16, Brian Hooker, Ph.D.,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/childrenshealthdefense.org\/\">Children\u2019s Health Defense<\/a>&nbsp;chief scientific officer, said he is concerned the U.S. is \u201cmaking agents of \u2026 biological destruction\u201d that could \u201cput us into another pandemic.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hooker echoed warnings by former<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=J7fTuivljUs\">&nbsp;CDC Director Robert Redfield<\/a>, who suggested the next pandemic would be sparked by a leak from a lab working to humanize bird flu told Iversen the CDC\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/ncird\/divisions-offices\/index.html\">Influenza Division<\/a>&nbsp;infected ferrets with the currently circulating H5N1 avian influenza strain, then infected human lung cells, to make the virus more infective to humans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Their justification, he said, is to be prepared for a zoonotic outbreak \u2014 where a virus from a bird or other animal jumps to humans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe party line that you hear all the time is, \u2018Well, we have to develop these pathogens because then we can develop the countermeasures,\u2019 \u2014 the vaccines, the monoclonal antibodies, the therapeutics,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a studies on bird flu<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The CDC, BARDA, NIAID and the World Health Organization (WHO) have conducted or funded dangerous bird flu studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.researchgate.net\/scientific-contributions\/Jessica-A-Belser-39934285\">Jessica Belser<\/a>, a lead researcher with the CDC, was involved in numerous studies exploring the pathogenicity and transmissibility of bird flu viruses. She is co-author of a March 2024 study on the H5N1 strain causing fatal disease and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/38494746\/\">transmitting between co-housed ferrets<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2020, Belser studied how different strains of the H9N2 flu virus, which have<a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/32611751\/\">&nbsp;genetic and antigenic differences<\/a>, show varying patterns of replication and transmission in mammalian animal models. The Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention was a collaborator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2016, Belser studied how different bird flu strains, including H5N1, H7N9 and H9N2, could infect<a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/27707929\/\">&nbsp;human pulmonary endothelial cells<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stjude.org\/research\/labs\/webby-lab\/webby-lab-team.html\">Richard Webby, Ph.D.<\/a>, a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/stjude.cloud-cme.com\/course\/courseoverview?P=0&amp;EID=5174\">BARDA-associated researcher<\/a>&nbsp;and director of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Studies on the Ecology of Influenza in Animals and Birds, is co-author of a May 2024 paper studying the<a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/38712345\/\">&nbsp;susceptibility and transmissibility in the pig population<\/a>&nbsp;of highly pathogenic avian influenza derived from mink.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a 2017 study funded by the NIAID, Webby tested<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/srep44727\">&nbsp;bird flu vaccines on ferrets<\/a>, infecting them with the wild virus to determine the vaccines\u2019 efficacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hooker told&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/childrenshealthdefense.org\/defender\/\">The Defender<\/a>&nbsp;this research is dangerous because ferrets \u201care immunologically very close to humans. \u2026 It\u2019s not a huge leap for them to suddenly get into the human population and start human-to-human transmission.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/christine-o-17930b177\">Christine Oshansky<\/a>, chief of Pandemic Vaccines and Adjuvants at BARDA, co-authored a 2021 study of<a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/33741987\/\">&nbsp;highly pathogenic influenza H7N9<\/a>&nbsp;and a vaccine formulation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2018, Oshansky tested H5N1 vaccines stored in the<a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/30553570\/\">&nbsp;national Influenza vaccine stockpile<\/a>&nbsp;for up to 12 years to determine if they could be effective against divergent A (H5) influenza viruses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The WHO funded the May 2020 study, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/doi\/10.1002\/rmv.2099\">Pandemic potential of highly pathogenic<\/a>&nbsp;avian influenza clade 2.3.4.4 A(H5) viruses.\u201d Collaborators included the CDC, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control and other organizations. pathogens.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kawaoka, the researcher long funded by NIAID to conduct bird flu research, has 78 patents in his portfolio, many of them related to bird flu vaccination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2023,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/childrenshealthdefense.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/cashing-in-pandemic.jpg\">Kawaoka filed patents<\/a>&nbsp;on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Mutations that confer genetic stability to additional genes in influenza viruses (US-11802273-B2).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Recombinant influenza viruses with stabilized HA for replication in eggs (US-11807872 \u2013 B2).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A humanized cell line (US-11851648-B2).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2022, Kawaoka filed a patent for influenza virus replication for vaccine development (US-113906-B2).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2020\/05\/05\/us\/politics\/rick-bright-coronavirus-whistleblower.html\">Richard Bright, former BARDA director<\/a>&nbsp;and a bird flu researcher at the CDC from 1998-2006, has an \u201cextensive patent portfolio on \u2014 you guessed it \u2014 bird flu vaccines,\u201d Hooker said. \u201cAnd so these A farm worker in Texas caught the H5N1 strain that is racing through cattle across the US earlier this month, becoming only the second ever American to be diagnosed &#8211; and experts are bracing for more cases.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier this year it was revealed the United States government was funneling $1million to China to see if scientists could make &#8216;highly pathogenic avian influenza&#8217; more contagious to mammals using gain-of-function research.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Government records showed the collaboration began in April 2021 and is scheduled to be funded through March 2026.&nbsp;The USDA previously told this website the project was applied for in 2019 and approved in 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The research involves infecting ducks and geese with different strains of viruses to make them more infectious, and studying the viruses&#8217; potential to &#8216;jump into mammalian hosts,&#8217; according to research documents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is being funded through the US Department of Agriculture and the main collaborators on the project are USDA Southeast Poultry Research Laboratory, the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the University of Edinburgh\u2019s Roslin Institute &#8211; and, if so, what those results were.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bird flu is of particular concern right now because a farmer in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/texas\/index.html\">Texas<\/a>&nbsp;recently contracted the H5N1 strain of the virus. The patient caught the bird flu from an infected cow, which was the first time the strain had been found in cattle.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They are only the second person to contract H5N1 after someone in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/colorado\/index.html\">Colorado<\/a>&nbsp;caught the virus in 2022.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While there is no sign of person-to-person spread \u2014 a development that would signal the start of a human epidemic \u2014 experts say the ease with which the strain is jumping between species raise the risk of it evolving to infect people more easily.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/centers-for-disease-control-and-prevention-cdc\/index.html\">Centers for Disease Control<\/a>&nbsp;and Prevention report a &#8216;low&#8217; that poses a &#8220;risk to both animals and humans.&#8221;&#8216;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sen Ernst said in a statement to DailyMail.com at the time: &#8216;The health and safety of Americans are too important to just wing it, and Biden\u2019s USDA should have had more apprehension before sending any taxpayer dollars to collaborate with [China] on risky avian flu research.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8216;They should know by now to suspect &#8220;fowl&#8221; play when it comes to researchers who have ties to the dangerous Wuhan Lab, and simply switching from bats to birds causes concern that they are creating more pathogens of pandemic potential.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8216;Here\u2019s my warning: the Biden administration should be walking on eggshells until they cut off every cent going to our adversaries. with the ability to cause neurological complications in humans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The H7N9 strain first infected humans and animals in China in March 2013 and the World Health Organization said it is of concern &#8216;because most patients have become severely ill.&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The H9N2 strain has been found in doves in China and while it has a lower pathogenicity than the other strains, it can still infect humans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite the concerns, a USDA spokesperson told this website it is &#8216;common for international researchers to conduct independent research that&#8217;s connected to the same end goal&#8217; Sen.<br>Rand Paul has referred the director\u2019s actions to the Department of Justice for an<br>investigation on possible perjury charges<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"967\" height=\"584\" src=\"http:\/\/humanityandearth.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/financial-targeting.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3625\" srcset=\"http:\/\/humanityandearth.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/financial-targeting.jpg 967w, http:\/\/humanityandearth.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/financial-targeting-300x181.jpg 300w, http:\/\/humanityandearth.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/financial-targeting-768x464.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 967px) 100vw, 967px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><br><br>Despite public outcry and denials from top health experts that the virus was created, the<br>preponderance of the evidence indicates the virus was manipulated in the lab. Then,<br>the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), publicly announced<br>October 5, 2021, they would grant Washington State University $125 million \u201cto detect<br>emerging viruses.\u201d<br>This is far greater than the $7.4 million Newsweek reported was granted to the NIAID<br>for gain-of-function work on bat coronavirus in Wuhan, China. Dr. Kanta Subbarao is<br>from the Laboratory of Infectious Disease at the National Institute of Allergy and<br>Infectious Diseases (NIAID) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).<br>According to Subbarao, these experiments \u201care routine virological methods\u201d and<br>\u201cemphasized that such experiments in virology are fundamental to understanding the<br>biology, ecology and pathogenesis of viruses and added that much basic knowledge is<br>still lacking for SARS-CoV and MERS-CoV.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"249\" height=\"324\" src=\"http:\/\/humanityandearth.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/s-baric.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2425\" srcset=\"http:\/\/humanityandearth.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/s-baric.jpg 249w, http:\/\/humanityandearth.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/s-baric-231x300.jpg 231w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 249px) 100vw, 249px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p><br>Historically, the NIH had funded gain-of-function research, but this was paused in October 2014. December 19, 2017, the NIH announced they would lift the funding pause on gain-of-function research and stated:<br>\u201cWe have a responsibility to ensure that research with infectious agents is conducted responsibly, and that we consider the potential biosafety and biosecurity risks associated with such research.\u201d<br>As Newsweek reported, the &#8220;second phase of the project, beginning that year [2019], included additional surveillance work but also gain-of-function research for the purpose of understanding how bat coronaviruses could mutate to attack humans. The project<br>was run by EcoHealth Alliance, a nonprofit research group, under the direction of<br>president Peter Daszak.&#8221;<br>After months of public and political debate, argument and division, the U.S. government<br>agency USAID stepped into the spotlight again and awarded millions to a university \u201cto<br>make sure the world is better prepared.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"468\" height=\"652\" src=\"http:\/\/humanityandearth.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/pharma-profit.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2617\" srcset=\"http:\/\/humanityandearth.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/pharma-profit.jpg 468w, http:\/\/humanityandearth.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/pharma-profit-215x300.jpg 215w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 468px) 100vw, 468px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p><br><br>University Accepts $125 Million for Gain-of-Function Research Washington State University published a press release October 5, 2021, announcing they had been awarded $125 million from USAID. Called a \u201ccooperative agreement,\u201d the university is heading up a new five-year global project in which they have been asked to<br>\u201c\u2026 detect and characterize unknown viruses which have the potential to spill over from<br>wildlife and domestic animals to human populations.\u201d<br>The project will partner with 12 countries throughout Africa, Latin America and Asia. The idea is to carry out animal surveillance within the country\u2019s borders using their facilities.<br>USAID announced the project \u201cto detect unknown viruses with pandemic potential\u201d as part of Discovery &amp; Exploration of Emerging Pathogens Viral Zoonoses (DEEP VZN).<br>The organization believes that SARS-CoV-2 has demonstrated how infectious diseases<br>threaten society. This is especially true of viruses that have been manipulated to<br>increase virulence and infectivity in humans. The goal of the project is to collect over<br>800,000 samples over five years from wildlife and then determine the zoonotic potential<br>of these viruses.<br>\u201cThe project will focus on finding previously unknown pathogens from three<br>viral families that have a large potential for viral spillover from animals to<br>humans: coronaviruses, the family that includes SARS-CoV-2 the virus that<br>causes COVID-19; filoviruses, such as the Ebola virus; and paramyxoviruses<br>which includes the viruses that cause measles and Nipah.\u201d<br>Ebola virus was first discovered in 1976 and has since led to several deadly outbreaks in<br>African countries. The CDC writes that scientists do not know where Ebola virus<br>comes from. However, the virus can spread through direct contact with body fluids and<br>tissues of infected animals.<br>Nipah was first discovered in 1999 and the first outbreak resulted in 300 human cases<br>and more than 100 deaths. The animal host is believed to be the fruit bat that can<br>spread the disease to animals and humans. The infection also spreads from person to<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"566\" src=\"http:\/\/humanityandearth.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/immune-system-and-more-shots-1024x566.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4908\" srcset=\"http:\/\/humanityandearth.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/immune-system-and-more-shots-1024x566.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/humanityandearth.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/immune-system-and-more-shots-300x166.jpg 300w, http:\/\/humanityandearth.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/immune-system-and-more-shots-768x424.jpg 768w, http:\/\/humanityandearth.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/immune-system-and-more-shots-1536x849.jpg 1536w, http:\/\/humanityandearth.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/immune-system-and-more-shots.jpg 1551w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><br>person and can range from mild to severe. Up to 70% of those infected between 1998<br>and 2018 have died.<br>The project expects to find between 8,000 a nd 12,000 new viruses, \u201cwhich researchers<br>will then screen and sequence the genomes of the ones that pose the most risk to<br>animal and human health.\u201d In case this sounds familiar, as Breaking Points anchor<br>emphasizes, this has been \u201ccode\u201d for gain-of-function research, or detecting viruses<br>that have not yet \u201cemerged.\u201d<br>Documents Reveal Virus Was Manipulated to Increase Virulence<br>An ongoing Freedom of Information Act litigation brought by The Intercept against the<br>NIH resulted in the release of over 900 pages of previously undisclosed documents that<br>detailed the work of EcoHealth Alliance as a subcontractor of gain-of-function research<br>on bat coronavirus through the Wuhan Institute of Virology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"902\" height=\"676\" src=\"http:\/\/humanityandearth.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/hybrid-warfare.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3954\" srcset=\"http:\/\/humanityandearth.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/hybrid-warfare.jpg 902w, http:\/\/humanityandearth.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/hybrid-warfare-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/humanityandearth.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/hybrid-warfare-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 902px) 100vw, 902px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><br>It\u2019s important to note that the moratorium on federal funding of gain-of-function<br>research instituted in 2014 was initiated on the heels of a high-profile lab mishap at the<br>CDC and controversial experiments over deadly bird flu virus that was manipulated to be<br>more contagious.<br>Reportedly, the goal was to determine if bird flu could mutate in the wild and start a<br>pandemic. David Relman, a microbiologist from Stanford University, stated the obvious<br>when he said, &#8220;I don&#8217;t think it&#8217;s wise or appropriate for us to create large risks that don&#8217;t<br>already exist.\u201d<br>The new documents released under the FOIA request by The Intercept contained<br>previously unpublished proposals by the NIAID and updates to the EcoHealth Alliance\u2019s<br>research. As reported in The Intercept, \u201cThe documents contain several critical details about the research in Wuhan, including the fact that key experimental work with humanized mice was conducted at a biosafety level 3 lab at Wuhan University Center for Animal<br><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"555\" height=\"904\" src=\"http:\/\/humanityandearth.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/densities-life-circel.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3154\" srcset=\"http:\/\/humanityandearth.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/densities-life-circel.jpg 555w, http:\/\/humanityandearth.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/densities-life-circel-184x300.jpg 184w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 555px) 100vw, 555px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p><br>Experiment \u2014 and not at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, as was previously assumed.<br>The documents raise additional questions about the theory that the pandemic may have begun in a lab accident, an idea that Daszak has aggressively<br>dismissed.\u201d<br>According to The Intercept, Richard Ebright, molecular biologist at Rutgers University,<br>also reviewed the documents released in the FOIA. He told The Intercept that the documents contained vital Information about the research being conducted in the Wuhan lab. He wrote:<br>\u201cThe viruses they constructed were tested for their ability to infect mice that were engineered to display human type receptors on their cell. While they were<br>working on SARS-related coronavirus, they were carrying out a parallel project at the same time on MERS-related  coronavirus.\u201d<br>In other words, the lab was doing parallel research on two types of coronaviruses that were able to infect humanized mice. In a series of posts on Twitter, Ebright goes on to say:<br>\u201cThe materials further reveal for the first time that one of the resulting novel, laboratory-generated SARS-related coronaviruses \u2014 one not been previously disclosed publicly \u2014 was more pathogenic to humanized mice than the starting virus from which it was constructed \u2026 and thus not only was reasonably<br>anticipated to exhibit enhanced pathogenicity, but, indeed, was <em>demonstrated<\/em> to exhibit enhanced pathogenicity.<br>The documents make it clear that assertions by the NIH Director, Francis Collins, and the NIAID Director, Anthony Fauci, that the NIH did not support gain of-function research or potential pandemic pathogen enhancement at WIV are untruthful.\u201d<br>This new information again questions the origins of COVID-19, which many scientists<br>proposed was from a wet market in China where humans and animals are in close contact. However, bioscience safety experts have long suspected a lab origin. It appears that some in the U.S. government and some scientists have not learned from the gain of-function research in Wuhan and have brought the problem home to roost.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"273\" height=\"372\" src=\"http:\/\/humanityandearth.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/The-deep-state.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2566\" srcset=\"http:\/\/humanityandearth.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/The-deep-state.jpg 273w, http:\/\/humanityandearth.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/The-deep-state-220x300.jpg 220w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 273px) 100vw, 273px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p><br>International Athletes Willfully Exposed to Lab-Leaked Virus<br>Whether the virus was released intentionally or accidentally is a question for another day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Long before the outbreak, scientists had expressed concerns that these kinds of experiments may end up creating the thing they were reportedly working against. As the Intercept reports, in 2014 a grant was awarded to EcoHealth Alliance titled \u201cUnderstanding the Risk of Bat Coronavirus Emergence.\u201d<br>Part of the grant money was earmarked to identify and alter bat coronaviruses suspected of being able to infect humans. In the grant the writers acknowledged concerns stating, \u201cFieldwork involves the highest risk of exposure to SARS or other CoVs, while working in caves with high bat density overhead and the potential for fecal dust to be inhaled.\u201d<br>In the USAID announcement, the government agency gives an overview of the goals in<br>one sentence: \u201cThe Biden-Harris Administration is committed to advancing global<br>health security, international pandemic preparedness and global health resilience.\u201d As<br>the Breaking Points anchor in the video above says, \u201cSo essentially, we have learned<br>nothing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"261\" height=\"215\" src=\"http:\/\/humanityandearth.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/two-fakes-runing-for-the-same-finish.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2433\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"621\" height=\"716\" src=\"http:\/\/humanityandearth.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/image-34.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4645\" srcset=\"http:\/\/humanityandearth.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/image-34.png 621w, http:\/\/humanityandearth.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/image-34-260x300.png 260w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 621px) 100vw, 621px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><br>August 1, 2021, Rep Michael McCaul, R-Texas, the ranking member of the House<br>Foreign Affairs committee, published an addendum to the investigation into the origins<br>of SARS-CoV-2. The investigation concluded:<br>\u201c\u2026 the preponderance of evidence suggests SARS-CoV-2 was accidentally<br>released from a Wuhan Institute of Virology laboratory sometime prior to<br>September 12, 2019. The virus, or the viral sequence that was genetically<br>manipulated, was likely collected in a cave in Yunnan province, PRC, between<br>2012 and 2015.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"574\" src=\"http:\/\/humanityandearth.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/The-puppet-masters-1024x574.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4773\" srcset=\"http:\/\/humanityandearth.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/The-puppet-masters-1024x574.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/humanityandearth.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/The-puppet-masters-300x168.jpg 300w, http:\/\/humanityandearth.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/The-puppet-masters-768x431.jpg 768w, http:\/\/humanityandearth.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/The-puppet-masters-1536x862.jpg 1536w, http:\/\/humanityandearth.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/The-puppet-masters.jpg 1560w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Researchers at the WIV, officials within the CCP, and potentially American<br>citizens directly engaged in efforts to obfuscate information related to the<br>origins of the virus and to suppress public debate of a possible lab leak.\u201d<br>By the end of August 2021, the White House released a statement from President Biden<br>essentially calling the intelligence report inconclusive, \u201cwhile this review has<br>concluded, our efforts to understand the origins of this pandemic will not rest.\u201d<br>Multiple pieces of information led the committee to conclude there was ample evidence<br>to support genetic modification of the coronavirus and there was a cover-up which<br>\u201clikely turned what could have been a local outbreak into a global pandemic.\u201d The<br>cover-up involved the 2019 Military Games held October 18, 2019, in Wuhan China.<br>The report demonstrated that by October 2019, health officials in Wuhan were well<br>aware of an outbreak of infectious disease. The athletes reported that the city appeared<br>to be in lockdown while they were there. The games drew over 9,000 athletes from 109<br>countries. The Chinese government had 236,000 volunteers, 90 hotels, three railroad<br>stations and more than 2,000 drivers available for the athletes.<br>The report included a quote from a Canadian Armed Forces personnel who participated<br>in the games, which appeared in The Financial Post. He was told the lockdown in the<br>city was to make it easier for the participants in the games to get around. Twelve days<br>after arrival in Wuhan, he was sick with fever, chills, vomiting and insomnia.<br>He reported that on the flight home to Canada, 60 athletes were isolated at the back of<br>the plane for the 12-hour flight with a range of symptoms including coughing and<br>diarrhea. After returning home, the same service member found his family members got<br>ill, which the report finds is:<br>\u201c\u2026 consistent with both human-to-human transmission of a viral infection and<br>COVID-19. Similar claims about COVID-19 like symptoms have been made by<br>athletes from Germany, France, Italy, and Sweden.\u201d<br>Funding Gain-of-Function Research Out in the Open<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"251\" height=\"204\" src=\"http:\/\/humanityandearth.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/y-vaccine-check-point.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2445\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p><br><br>Following the release of The Intercept report and additional grant documentation, some GOP members are calling for Dr. Anthony Fauci to resign while others want him fired from his position on the White House COVID-19 response team.<br>U.S. Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky.., has referred Fauci to the Department of Justice for an investigation for possible perjury charges relating to his Congressional testimony in May<br>2021 and July 2021, when he vehemently denied ever having funded gain-of-function<br>research.<br>Paul specifically asked the DOJ to investigate whether Fauci violated 18 U.S. Code \u00a7<br>100121 \u2014 which makes it a federal crime to make \u201cany materially false, fictitious or<br>fraudulent statement or representation\u201d as part of \u201cany investigation or review&#8221;<br>conducted by Congress \u2014 or any other statute.<br>How much genetic manipulation and gain-of-function research that occurs as a result of<br>the $125 million grant to the university may not come to light for years.
